Squids Odyssey Switch NSP Free Download GAMESPACK.NET You might have stumbled upon The Game Baker’s Squids Odyssey before since this charming adventure/strategy/underwater billiard simulator has been previously released on both the Wii U and the 3DS. But is Steev and Vahine’s epic quest to save every creature in the sea worth another go or is it destined to sink? It’s hard to fault these squids in any way. From their mobile roots it was clear the developer was onto something rather special and it has been running away with it ever since. The kid-friendly, colourful artwork and presentation hide a rather curious hybrid of turn-based strategy, RPG and flinging mechanics that unlike most mobile concepts doesn’t get tiresome fast. This is due to the amount of chaos one erroneous fling can cause in the ‘battlefield’. Once you deploy your team of up to four squids on the playfield, each takes turns flinging themselves at enemies or positions until they ran out of stamina and await the next turn. You have to consider currents, urchins and the scenario boundaries so you don’t fling your squad into their untimely demise right from the opening rounds. But when things work out well the results never fail to amuse, with your squids hitting foes and everyone bouncing all over the playfield.TOP/BEST ADULT VIDEO GAMES IN UNITED STATES OF AMERICA (USA)

Doing your finest to predict how things will develop is the key to victory here, but sometimes just throwing squids around and hoping for the best could be just as rewarding. Of course, you won’t be making it very far unless you successfully prepare your cephalopod army efficiently. The early levels of the main ‘Squids of the Caribbean’ campaign will do a great job of teaching you the ropes, including the four different classes you can deploy: Scouts can dash a few times after being flung, Shooters can fire ranged attacks once per turn, Troopers have a powerful area attack and Healers can recover unit health if launched correctly. Pearls are your underwater currency. Fear not, you will not need to buy them with actual money like in the mobile versions, you can simply pick it by hitting oysters in the battlefield. You will need to gather these because of levelling up and to buy several dozen stat-boosting helmets. Since some of these hats also show up hidden inside oysters, it pays out to get to all of them before clearing up the battlefield from foes. Presentation is rather lovely, with charming colourful graphics giving the whole package an all age appeal.

Build your party from 15 different Squids in 4 classes: shooters, scouts, troopers, and healers.

Likewise for the sound and music. While it may at first look to be a game aiming for the younger/casual audience, the presentation and the strategy side of gameplay mean that even if you are not part of that target audience you might find yourself helplessly hooked firing squids all across the board. Even if you decide to play it on the TV, the controls are still perfectly usable but nowhere near as fun as using fingertip swipes to unleash cephalopod fury. Squids Odyssey tells a tale of a band of squids fighting against corrupted shellfish in the only way they know how: by pulling back on their legs and slingshotting themselves into the enemies. Since the view is top-down and the action is all happening underwater, gravity does not play a part in the physics. Instead, squids and shrimp bounce around like billiard balls, taking damage for each hit or being defeated completely for being knocked off an edge. Additionally, there are four classes of squid to choose from, each with its own special abilities. Scouts can dash to go further in a turn or impart more momentum on a target, shooters can hit enemies without having to get close, troopers can perform an area-of-effect slam, and healers can bounce into friendly units to restore some health.FIFA 23 PC

Each level has a unique setup, including points of interest like jet streams that will push units and objects further along, anchors that can be used to keep from being moved during the enemy turn, and powerups that confer a range of random benefits. As a base concept, it’s neat. Taken a few levels at a time, it can be a decent time waster. However, it does not really live up to the lofty claim of mashing up a tactical role-playing game with physics-based action. Certainly, players must employ some forethought in order to be successful, but the fact that success is based also on execution detracts from the tactical focus. Additionally, the role-playing elements seem entirely superfluous with the game as it is. As the player progresses, pearls are spent to upgrade the squids’ stats, but it does not have a tangible effect on gameplay. As attack power increases, so does enemy health and defense, so where it takes roughly two to three hits to defeat a shrimp in the beginning, it stays that way despite the character progression. Though it uses the Wii U GamePad’s touch screen and allows off-screen play, Squids Odyssey still betrays its status as a mobile port. The menus work fine on the touch screen but were clearly not designed for a D-pad and buttons, and every input has a slight lag that makes it feel unpolished.

The game locked up entirely for me once, forcing a hard reset of the console. Despite all that, Squids Odyssey is not bad. One of its high points is the colorful, hand-drawn artwork. Though most stages in any one set have a similar look, they are almost all unique backdrops, and the underwater setting makes for some beautiful environments. The sound design and music fit the theme as well. Though it is not bad, it is neither great. The basic gameplay concept is fine, and it works as a way to pass time in short bursts. It seems like it could work better if it were a pure skill game rather than the hybrid it is, and it surely would work better on mobile or handheld. The sheer volume of content available for the relatively low price is commendable, but while there is a lot to play in Squids Odyssey, there is not a lot to really love. There are about 15 different squids to unlock and choose from to create and mix and match a team of four. Each squid has their own class, similar to any other RPG-style game. There are shooters, scouts, troopers, and healers, each one with their own special ability to aid them along the way. Halo The Master Chief Collection

Each stage has a different goal. Sometimes it’s to get your team to the other side of the stage, sometimes it’s to defeat all the enemies, and other times it’s just to survive for a certain amount of turns. There are some stages that have a second goal once you reach the first goal before the level officially ends. The squids move in a unique way in which using the analog stick or the touch screen in handheld mode, you pull their tentacles back and fling them across the stage like a slingshot. This is a fine way to maneuver them around the stage, but if they fall off the edge, they’re dead. Each character has a ring of bubbles around them, which is their stamina. When the bubbles are all gone, they’re out of energy and their turn is over. This is a unique take on a turn-based style RPG, especially when the characters are squids. However, it didn’t do much for me. It was hard to estimate how far I wanted the characters to go. They often missed or didn’t hit the enemy with enough force to do a lot of damage. The heavier squids needed more stamina in order to go farther, which was a nice touch. Throughout each stage, there are message bottles the squids can run into and get. It’s random what they get and can be a heal for them or food for extra stamina and an attack boost. This goes into effect right away and lasts until the end of their current turn.

Win turn-based battles with strategy and skill, using the environment and your party’s strengths to your advantage.

Pearls can be collected throughout each level which is used as money to buy certain helmets and items in order to make your team stronger. For example, the Claw Crown which adds some health and defense to your shooter or shurikens for your character to throw to hit multiple enemies at once. The storytelling is well done, even if the story itself was a little lacking. Each character has a unique voice and fun personality. The story is told through their conversations between each level. Their banter made the story fun. However, the overall plot wasn’t enough to get me into the game. While the ooze covering the ocean is an interesting concept, it just didn’t raise the stakes high enough for the characters, especially when they mentioned a couple of times that this happened before. The graphics were nicely detailed. The characters themselves look like a cartoon but the backgrounds and stages are pretty. The overall game is appealing to the eye and the colors are certainly enticing bringing me right back to the beach. The music was well done. There were no tunes that got stuff in my head, but the music choices were appropriate for the stages and battles. The sound effects were quirky and fun to listen to. They were satisfying when an enemy died or got pushed off the stage.

Squids Odyssey is a fairly easy game. Each level is pretty quick, despite the achievements that go along with each stage. It’s a casual RPG that’s not bad to pick up at any time in handheld mode and get through a couple of levels. However, there’s not much to the story and while the gameplay is fun, I felt there could have been more of a variety in that department as well. It’s a top down turn based strategy RPG adventure from the same people that made Furi (This game was their first game) where you fling squids to navigate levels fighting other sea creatures, avoiding obstacles, and trying to stay on the map. This is a phone port of a game that came out so long ago that it isn’t updated to play on any current OS, so I was stoked to see it on Steam. Too many games keep disappearing without having a way to play them anymore, and it’s sad when they’re good games like this, so I’m glad they made a good port for it.The graphics are remastered in HD so it looks polished (it came out in 2011 not in HD) It’s a bundle of both the games that released put together with additional content so a lot to play through The controls are adapted from the touchscreen to Mouse/Controller and they both work well The Game Bakers is a good company (They only have 3 games on here, but they have another game Called Combo Crew, and every game they’ve made is solid with a large amount of interaction with their community.

Any developer that tries to help their customers and shows they exist by taking feedback, fixing issues, and actually listening to their fans is a start in the right direction even if their stuff isn’t perfect) It’s broken down into small missions so it’s easy to play a bit at a time when you don’t have a ton of time to invest, and super easy to come back to if you haven’t played in a while The map feels a bit uncomfortable at times; not being able to look around can cause you to waste your time searching in the wrong directions and there’s no compass telling you were your missions are located. It’s fairly small maps though so it’s not a massive issue It’s very simplistic so it starts to get repetitive after playing for a while. This is definitely something you would leave and come back to in order to finish. Build your team of Squid heroes for epic turn-based battles against corrupted crabs and shrimps! Steev and the rest of the Squids are in danger! An infectious ooze is corrupting their world, and this band of unlikely heroes needs to fight back to save their kingdom. Squids Odyssey is not just about gorgeous cartoon art, jaunty music and humorous storytelling: the battles provide a deep challenge as strategy and skill are required to use the environment and the Squids’ strengths to lead your team to victory!House Party
