Gunner, HEAT, PC! Free Download GAMESPACK.NET It’s a weird time for fans of modern tank combat games. The straight-shooting simulator titles from the turn of the millennium are no more. As tank nerds, we need a game that gets right to the good stuff – modern tanks, realistic system and damage models, and a focus on fun over all. With Gunner, HEAT, PC! we aim to make that dream a reality. GHPC will blend game and simulation in just the right amounts, providing awesome fire control and ballistics simulation behind deceptively simple controls. This core feature set serves as the foundation for a rich single player campaign mode, skirmish missions, and cooperative multiplayer modes: a satisfying option for every taste. And let’s not forget about infantry and support units -AI-controlled combined arms forces will round out the tactical environment and let armored units shine the way they were meant to. .TOP/BEST ADULT VIDEO GAMES IN UNITED STATES OF AMERICA (USA)

We’re making a great tank game because that’s what we want to play. Before I get too deep into this, a disclaimer: be aware that this is a heavily in-progress project by a very small team, and manage expectations accordingly. It seems over the years that a lot of people have lost sight of what ‘early access’ entails and may be expecting a much more complete game, despite one of the earliest successful adopters of the early access development model being in a similar state of completion at release. With that out of the way… this game is a breath of fresh air after years of waiting for something like it. I grew up playing Microprose’s M1 Tank Platoon 2, and have always had fond memories of it… but nothing to take its place. SABOW is fantastic but difficult to get into due to its arcane interface

Tanks weren’t built to fight alone

Steel Beasts is obviously the armour sim but is a big commitment to learn, and the more recent tank-centric titles either render the vehicles beautifully but have no depth at all, or are aimed towards a VR experience, and I don’t have VR. DCS Combined Arms is… well, DCS Combined Arms. Even at this early stage of development, I can see the basis for a fantastic tank game starting to form. The fire control systems are carefully simulated but have unified controls, so you don’t need to learn a different setup for each vehicle. The finer details of driving are handled by an AI, so you don’t need to wrestle with the transmission on top of keeping a lookout, planning movements, and handling the tank’s gunnery – but at the same time, the tank does move like a tank, not a very overweight car. The terrains look good and are detailed enough to offer tactical options. DRAGON BALL XENOVERSE

The AAR feature is nothing new, but is well-designed: spalling and shrapnel are colour coded by energy state, and filters are available to look for specific types of shots. So far the campaign system is fairly barebones, but you can see what’s being aimed for: an ongoing dynamic campaign with the ability to drain some logistical or attritional resources through engagements, and the developers have laid out some ideas about additional features which should keep RPG-inclined players happy (both types of RPG, now I think about it). Let’s talk about what this game is and what it isn’t: as I alluded to before, I view GHPC as a direct successor to the tank sim-lites of the 90s and 00s, like M1TP2. It is campaign-centred, primarily PvE (the devs have indicated PvP is possible but very low priority, and will need to be planned in a way to retain the same core gameplay as the rest of the game)

Seamless control and vehicle swapping

And has a distinct setting based on historical events. GHPC’s initial theatre of operations is the area around Fulda, in CENTAG’s area of responsibility, circa 1985. If a vehicle was there, and was directly relevant to combat operations (including some logistics representation), it will be present in the game. If it wasn’t there, or it was phased out of service or not yet in service in the area in 1985, it will not be. There will be no prototypes, no unicorns, no mental gymnastics to one-up the other guy in terms of equipment. This isn’t going to be a game centred around the ludicrous idea that all vehicles should be “balanced” against their direct counterpart; if you’re playing as the Nationale Volksarmee and you see a platoon of Abrams rolling over the next ridge, expect a lot of pain. You’ll need to use your brain to outmanoeuvre and outshoot your enemy if you don’t have the armour or ammunition to challenge them directly. Dying Light 2 Stay Human

The game will eventually encompass not just tanks and IFVs, but dismounted ATGM teams, infantry squads, and artillery and airborne fire support. Do you really want to risk driving through that forest, knowing full well that you saw a couple of M113s roll into it earlier? Perhaps it’s the lesser of two evils compared to skirting an open field against tanks equipped with thermal optics and digitised fire control systems. Even before release, there have been comments popping up on the game’s trailers about “balance” and accusations of bias one way or the other… it seems the mindset of the current generation of competitive, grindy PvP deathmatch arena games has settled in hard, and it’ll probably take a while to lift, but realise that such logic does not apply here and will apply even less once the infantry arrive. So far, the game features a decent vehicle lineup

A place for every role

With their most important features fleshed out and more on the way. Two flavours of M60 Patton, two flavours of M1 Abrams, the M2 Bradley, the M113, the T-55, two flavours of T-72, the BMP-1, and the BRDM are all available for direct combat vehicles right now; in addition, each faction has a dismounted ATGM emplacement (TOW for NATO, 9K111 for Pact), a logistics truck (M923, Ural 375D), and the Pact has a UAZ-469, which is also the first of the Soviet forces to arrive in the game as modelled. Plenty more are coming: the Group of Soviet Forces in Germany will soon arrive with the T-62, T-64A, T-80B, BMP-2, and BTR-60 and possibly a later variant as well. Likewise, we can expect to see the Bundeswehr’s Leopards, Marders, and other vehicles. Each has its own features and drawbacks; the T-55 presents a near-enough-WWII tanking experience

though at least with two-axis stabilisation and rudimentary night fighting capability. The M60A1 RISE brings passive night vision and coincidence rangefinding; the T-64A also features the latter, but with poor night vision and superior armour and smaller silhouette. Abrams, M60A3 TTS, and T-80B all bring advanced fire control systems including automatic gun leading, and the former two also include thermal sights. The fire control systems and/or gunsights for each of the armed vehicles are modelled well, and additional periscope views will be added. Fully modelled interiors aren’t planned – they would add too much time and cost to development for no gameplay purpose, as nice as they’d look. This leads nicely into my next point: the developers so far have shown a great sense of priorities. Little touches that add immersion are included where they don’t take long to implement

like the rocking of the trucks’ beds as they pass over bumps, randomised sets of external equipment on tanks (oops, all MREs!), or the petals falling away from a sabot dart after it leaves the barrel. The crew voices are phenomenal and they react under stress as you’d expect, adding both immense immersion and also the utility of calling out targets you may not have seen. If immersion-building features take too long, they’re moved down the priority list. Core gameplay features are prioritised and there is a clear vision for the game, no doubt to the annoyance of those who receive a simple “No” to their questions about whether some esoteric feature or exotic vehicle is planned or not. In a world of feature creep and increasing tendency to fall into a cycle of using microtransactions to fund fluff, which then serves to obtain more microtransactions ELDEN RING
