Weird West Free Download GAMESPACK.NET I’ve lived many lives as I’ve travelled around the Weird West. Bounty hunter, werewolf, pigman—that was a memorable one. And in every body I made the West a little better, or a little worse. As much as it’s a game about constant micro decision-making—stealth or direct assault; Molotov cocktail and oil barrel or revolver and John Woo slow-mo dive—Weird West is just as concerned with the bigger picture as other immersive sims, including Dishonored and Prey. That bigger picture begins in a familiar place: with a bounty hunter coming out of retirement to locate her kidnapped husband. For the first few hours, I was tangling with outlaws in typical Wild West fashion and wondering where all the weirdness was. TOP/BEST ADULT VIDEO GAMES IN UNITED STATES OF AMERICA (USA)

You buy supplies in towns, and pick up bounties before heading out, traversing an open world map stuffed with abandoned mines, ghost towns, and isolated homesteads. More often than not, these locations are filled with enemies you can either sneak past or fill with lead, via fast-paced, top-down combat. It may be that I was cursed with the knowledge that Weird West’s creative director Raphaël Colantonio was co-director of the original Dishonored, and director of Prey, but I couldn’t help comparing Weird West to Arkane’s immersive sims—at least at first. The similarities are there, particularly when you enter a hostile environment offering various methods of approach, but the action isn’t as slick or creative as in Arkane’s games.

Discover the world through origin stories of different characters, moving from one character’s journey to the next until all converge in a final chapter.

Unlockable abilities primarily increase your damage output, add elemental effects, or let you hit multiple targets—you can’t meaningfully synergise abilities, as you can with the Outsider powers in Dishonored 2. Stealth, typically my preferred approach, is certainly possible in Weird West, but I used it more as an opening salvo, as a prelude to the inevitable massacre when it all went wrong. That’s partly because the fiction encourages it—you’re fighting eminently killable assholes, be they gang-members, monstrous sirens, or settlers driven feral by gold—and partly because of the murky visual style, which sacrifices readability for a grungy comic book aesthetic. I was forever zooming in, to better make out the characters and environment, and zooming out for an overview of the level, and generally getting myself spotted in the process. When fighting does break out, it’s refreshingly and mercifully quick. However, between that dingy visual style, and an overly complex twin-stick control scheme, I never found it all that enjoyable. My main takeaway from the top-down sneaking and shooting is that Desperados III developer Mimimi Games does it a whole lot better. Thankfully, there’s far more to Weird West than its combat. I mentioned the pigman earlier, and now it’s time that Chekov’s gun went off. The second story in this anthology puts you in the trotters of an unholy man-pig mashup, who leaves his swamp to enact revenge upon the witch that did this to him.

Each playthrough is unique as the game tailors the story to the player’s actions and past choices for an ideal dramatic arc.

All that weirdness comes out in a flood, as you traipse across the world for clues to your identity. You’ll chat with a sentient, foul-mouthed sentient tree and battle witches in ancient, subterranean temples. wake from my bed in the middle of the night, startled by noises outside. Resting next to me on the bedside table is an old oil lamp. I pick it up, hoping to shed some light on the situation, but I miss-click, and suddenly my avatar hurls the lamp against the wall. It shatters, spreading fire across the little wood cabin. The bottle of whiskey on the table ignites and the wooden chairs shatter, while fire crawls up the curtains and through the window, catching the chicken coop just outside. I hear a few loud squawks and see a fatal burst of feathers as I stand in the middle of the chaos, being slowly licked to death by the flames of my own stupidity. People Playground

Ah, this is one of those games, I think. Like Disco Elysium’s fatal tie incident, except with physics and chemistry and propagating fire. This is the first game from the newly founded WolfEye Studios, whose co-founder, Raphaël Colantonio, worked as a creative director on Dishonored, Prey, and more at Arkane Studios. In other words, systemic chaos is to be expected. Like DishonoredWeird West is a real genre-bender, mixing the open wilderness and gunslinging Western with horror and fantasy. There’s “frontier justice” and duels at high noon — but there’s also witches, werewolves and vampires. While Weird West comes with plenty of systems and simulations, at its heart this is a familiar computer RPG rather than some spectacular new translation of the immersive sim.

Weird West supports different styles of play in a simulated sandbox world where characters, factions, and even places react to a player’s decisions.

Think of Larian Studios’ recent Divinity games, where you can pick up almost every object in the world, set elements ablaze (in real time), and sneak around and pickpocket people. Weird West also comes in a slightly more condensed package — the world feels far smaller and less cohesive than many big RPGs, instead being split up into smaller locations that you travel between on a map. The story of Weird West works as an anthology. There are five characters, who you play in sequence, each with their own story to unravel and specific problems to solve: a bounty hunter whose husband has been kidnapped by a powerful fleshing-eating entity; a hogman hungry for revenge after their horrific transformation; a young Anishinaabe hunter defending his home from the spirit of greed; a werewolf; and finally, a witch. Bridging each of these distinct chapters are several recurring characters — a strange young girl who speaks in riddles, a wandering witch who plays games with you, and a bounty hunter obsessed with immortality and bad jokes. Each life lived spills over into the next chapter. If you liberate a monster-infested ghost town as the bounty hunter, it’ll be a bustling place with shopkeepers and a saloon when you return as the hogman. Similarly, if you go on a huge robbery or killing spree, that place will be empty except for an overflowing graveyard. Previous characters also persist in the world after you’ve finished playing them, hanging about ready to be recruited into your posse. Then there’s the bad parts. These are most of the review but they are also really my only complaints, It’s well worth your time and money to play this game. Anyway, you play as different characters sequentially and you cannot go back to previous characters. Once they complete their chapter, they’re done and cannot be controlled.

This should be fine, and the first time it switched I was really excited because it was brand new but… you don’t bring anything. None of your progression items except your orange stat page, and your weapon abilities get reset. To get your progress back you have to haul ass back to your original characters house and speak with them (which is cool to see how they live and talk to you) and then ask them for your  back. They give it over no problem but it turns every new character into a groan when i should be exploring a dozen new reveals. You need to do this too because the game can be really difficult without it. You should buy a horse to travel faster but for some reason that horse disappears at character swap too. Why? What happened to my last horse? My last character saved the Used Napkins and 4 copies of the same amulet but they shot the horse into orbit or something? I don’t get it. You can use a bank account from any bank as any character to access the same pool so that is an option, but if all bank tellers can read my soul-fingerprint or I have a soul-bound bank key, why can’t I get the same thing with a horse? Give me a whistle or something that calls my horse over so I don’t have to visit Grackle every playthrough.
