Wayward Strand Switch NSP Free Download GAMESPACK.NET Wayward Strand is such an odd little game, but that is by no means a criticism. Despite its utterly fantastic concept, and ironically given that it takes place in a floating airship, this game is sweet, meditative, and very grounded. It’s also incredibly Australian, but not in the over-the-top, Crocodile Dundee way. It’s authentically, honestly Australian, and we need more of this from the local industry. There’s a giant airship that has been anchored to a small town in rural Australia, and it has been pressed into service as a hospital and residence for the elderly. Why? The game isn’t entirely clear on that at first, but you’ll have the vague impression that its to distance the elderly from the rest of society, and that’s certainly a theme and failing of how we treat people in this country. It’s not on-the-nose about it but it does encourage you to think about the implications as the story gets going. You play as the daughter of the head nurse, who has found herself volunteering to help out for a few days. She does have an ulterior motive, though – she’s also a journalist for her school newspaper, and wants to find out some interesting stories from the residents of the hospital. What this narrative set-up translates to is a simple point-and-click adventure, where you move from location to location, chatting to the residents, and slowly piecing together each story from the hints that others give you. It’s neither challenging nor stressful, but there is a time clock ticking away, and each resident has their own routines that they follow. At lunch time they’ll be found in the dining car. At other times they’ll have appointments with the nurse. Sometimes they go to chat to one another, and at other times they entertain themselves in their rooms. Each character is wonderfully-written, with plenty of nuance and layers of depth that you’ll slowly unpeel as you get to know their history (and given their advanced ages they have a lot of that to share!). At other times you’ll need to find our tidbits of information by listening in to conversations that you aren’t a part of. You can do that by “sneaking” up to a door and listening carefully. No one seems to think to close their doors in Wayward Strand, and there some secrets to uncover.

Welcome to the Hospital.

It might not be Hercule Poirot on the Orient Express, but you are do get to play at investigator, and that’s a delight. With that being said, the stories can also be touching and sad, and some of the characters on the floating boat aren’t all that eager to share them. There’s also a “VIP” visit planned for the end of the week, which gives you a hard deadline to learn as much as you can before their arrival disrupts everything. The year is 1978. During her school holiday, fourteen-year-old Casey is roped by her mum into helping out at the airship-turned-floating-hospital where she works as the head nurse. Casey’s job? Assist the nurses and visit as many of the hospital’s patients as she can over the course of three days. Being an aspiring journalist for her school paper, young Casey also brings her trusty notebook with her in the hopes that she can compile enough information to write an article about the hospital. The crux of Wayward Strand‘s gameplay involves gathering information about the airship itself and its residents and using said information to potentially assist others.Z-Island UNCENSORED

As a child herself, Casey (understandably) can’t help with the myriad medical care issues at hand, but she can provide a helpful ear to those in need, even if they might not realize it at the time. Her inquisitive nature can annoy to some of the more taciturn or private patients, while others are more than willing to share information about their lives depending on the situation. Every person in the hospital has their own preferences as to how interactions should go, and you uncover those preferences the more time you spend with each person. Spending time is another interesting feature of Wayward Strand, as you only have three days to work with, and the game features real-time progression. You choose who to spend moments with, but events with the other residents are still ongoing as you do. Nurses and patients traverse the halls as you’re talking with someone, and characters will change what they’re doing depending on the time of day, potentially opening up new story routes. It makes for an intriguing mechanic, as you must pick and choose what events you’d prefer to see, and act accordingly.

Explore A Living World.

There is no way to view every story scene in a single playthrough with how Wayward Strand is set up, encouraging multiple playthroughs if you wish to uncover how all of the branching points develop. It’s a realistic detail, causing you to carefully consider how to spend your time, providing a sense of reality with a world that remains in motion even when your character isn’t actively participating in it.When I think of my time playing Wayward Strand, I imagine driving along the Victorian coast on a hot summer day. The windows are down as a gentle warm breeze flows through the car. Between small regional towns, the landscape changes from rolling hills dry and thirsty for the rain to forests of giant old native trees to open fields sparsely populated by cows and sheep. Just a little further, the ocean is in view. Following the winding road, I pull up to a coastal town, enjoying the blue skies, warm breeze and cool water at my toes. Wayward Strand’s opening art evokes these thoughts and memories as you remember that feeling. Why the unusual intro? Wayward Strand isn’t your usual game.NICKELODEON KART RACERS 3: SLIME SPEEDWAY

It’s an interactive story about life, experiences and memories that invites reminiscing and empathy. More importantly, it is a story that is a joy to discover. It’s 1978, and Casey Beaumaris is a teen joining her mother, the head nurse, on the large airship anchored at a small regional Victorian town by the sea for a few days. Casey is there to help on board the airship and to spend time with the elderly residents. An aspiring journalist, Casey is also looking to write a story for her school paper. While it presents like a point-and-click adventure game, Wayward Strand is not about solving puzzles or where to go next. Once boarding the airship, Casey is given a fob watch to keep track of the time as events unfold in real-time. Your only task is to help the patients if needed and spend time with them. Over the days, the patients will get up and about and visit others, nurses will make the rounds and assist, and meal times fill the dining area. As you stroll around the ship, Casey can listen to conversations and moments between the patients and staff. While it is a way of allowing you to get a glimpse into the lives and dynamics on the ship.

Your Journey.

It can feel a little awkward to be spying in, but then Casey is inquisitive and has plenty of room in her notebook. Notes are added regularly as the passengers/patients share information with Casey or are overheard. When conversations are happening, you gain the ability to listen in and sneakily get some further information. Use this information to ask questions to learn more about the patients and their interesting lives as they share with you. Wayward Strand can be a relaxed game as you move around the ship and stop by whoever is along the way, but also action-packed as you want to run around and see what interesting (or less interesting) things people are getting up to. Sometimes I would be in a conversation and see someone walk by the room, leaving me to wonder what was unfolding. Wayward Strand first caught my eye in a Wholesome Direct, and if you know anything about those presentations, then you pretty much know what kind of game to expect. Something about the idea of a laid back game where you just talked to the elderly was weirdly interesting to me.

My first job as a teenager was as a server at a retirement home’s in-house restaurant; this is where I interacted with a huge number of retirees with all sorts of stories and life experiences to share (sometimes whether you wanted it or not). A game written around this concept was intriguing, and so I have been eagerly awaiting the release of Wayward Strand. I am happy to say that overall I think Wayward Strand managed to deliver on its concept. Wayward Strand, you take control of a young fourteen-year-old girl in Australia named Casey, whose three day weekend is thrown to the wind when her mother recruits her to help at work. Casey’s mom is the head nurse at a hospital that has been built inside a decommissioned airship, and not much about the ship is public knowledge. Casey, an aspiring journalist writing for her school newspaper, decides that if she’s going to be losing her holiday she may as well get a story out of it. She is assigned to the elderly ward and asked to simply spend time with the various patients there, so she begins to hang out with people like the kind and gentle Ida, the pompous Mr. Avery, and the nonverbal Tomi.

All the while she works to get to know their stories and personalities, while also trying to sneak in a bit of digging for information on the facility itself. Gameplay is about as simple as you can get: Casey can walk around the elderly ward and speak to the characters around her. If a conversation is already happening between characters where you are, you have the option to listen in. Information gained during these conversations will be added to Casey’s notebook, and responses chosen during conversations will affect how other characters feel about interacting with her. There aren’t really any set-in-stone goals in Wayward Strand, you can pick and choose what you do and who you hang out with. The more you get to know characters, the more events you can witness, but be warned that a VIP guest is set to visit at the end of the week and tensions are high as a result. Not everybody is going to be so open to socializing with a fourteen-year-old , and it’s up to you whether or not you want to try and break their hard candy shell or leave them to their own devices in order to not rock the boat. There are a few issues with Wayward Strand as a whole, the most prevalent of which is some unfortunate visual bugs. Tiny Rails
