Spec Ops The Line Free Download GAMESPACK.NET Nothing good ever happens to anyone in Spec Ops: The Line. It starts with a rescue, a rough situation destined to get worse, and unravels in a downward spiral where only bad things happen to good people. By the end, physical, mental, and moral disruption leave each character in a very different place than they started. You almost expect it to have been written by Game of Thrones author George R.R. Martin. This isn’t a good thing for Captain Martin Walker, our intrepid hero whose will weakens with every enemy encounter. He transforms from a cheesy cliché to someone you sympathize with, and then develops into something despicable. How he gets there isn’t up to you — what it ultimately means, though, is entirely your call. Story is Spec Ops’ strong suit, and while the inconsistent combat isn’t ideal, the gameplay does a great job of facilitating that narrative between intense encounters. In fact, The Line accomplishes something most shooters don’t bother with: It makes violence meaningful. Every firefight ends with Walker and his Delta Force squad regretting what they’ve done. The Line puts them in the precarious position of fighting their brethren. Rogue American soldiers who’ve abandoned their duty in Dubai attack on sight, and not without reason. The city is a wasteland, the environment is as hostile as the refugees, and surviving requires aggressive self-defense. TOP/BEST ADULT VIDEO GAMES IN UNITED STATES OF AMERICA (USA)

Dubai hosts a civil war between multiple factions trying not to die. The Deltas are just one of these groups. As Walker, you’ll discover dark and disturbing things about Dubai and the people stuck within it. In your mission to save civilians and make contact with a former commander, you’ll make tough decisions that aren’t like other video game choices. Morality isn’t a feature or mechanic in Spec Ops: The Line — each ethical quandary Walker confronts are subtle story beats dealt with by in-game action rather than a separate yes/no mechanism. You project their meaning and importance onto your character without seeing substantial in-game consequence. Deciding which of the bickering, increasingly angry teammates to side with, or who lives and dies, doesn’t affect the outcome of your rescue mission. In fact, the finale has a greater effect on the six hours leading up to it. Choice changes what it means to be this man. He makes the inevitable bad call and deals with it, nothing more. On the other side of every door and dune are conspiracies, betrayals, and mysteries waiting for Walker. The battles on the way to each one strengthens The Line’s constant tension. Walker is just a man, and bullets rip him to pieces. He’s vulnerable and his enemies are aggressive, which encourages intelligent tactical combat. The Line introduces new variables in each fight. Sometimes sandstorms, sunshine, or objects obscure your vision.

Fast-moving melee specialists, heavy gunners, and grenadiers force you to stay mobile and risk exposure. Destroying walls to drown enemies in sand is as viable a tactic as taking a turret, popping out of cover with a SCAR, or commanding squadmates. Marking targets keeps you safe while slipping from one unreliable cover point to the next, and issuing commands to stun soldiers with flashbangs keeps them from suppressing you. Walker’s commands are simple and few because he doesn’t rely on them. When they’re not shooting at walls, Lugo and Adams — Walker’s left- and right-hand men — are capable of dealing with waves of attackers. They saved me from dying multiple times when Spec Ops’ mechanics failed me. On multiple occasions, Walker didn’t slide into or sprint out of cover properly. Half the time I tried protecting myself, my character stopped dead before dropping dead. Vaulting over objects is an issue as well because its input is the same as the melee attack, meaning Walker would sometimes punch the air instead of hop over a barrier. With no evasive roll to dodge effectively, control problems hung me out to dry. If ever there was a video game that stands in resolute opposition to Carmack’s opinion in this regard, it’s Spec Ops: The Line. Yager’s new third-person shooter is all about story. In fact, story is its principle asset. Whether it becomes a success or failure depends entirely on the willingness of players to engage with its story to the extent that they look past its erratic mechanics and unsatisfying gameplay. The game opens with a rather stunning set-piece involving a helicopter chase through the rooftops of Dubai. The player controls a soldier firing a chaingun from the door of a chopper as enemy copters swarm and buzz the vehicle. As the chase unfolds, the player inevitable tears through buildings and rips up rooftops with high-calibre rounds as they try to fend off their attackers. The contemporary trappings of the soldiers and the high-octane feel of the scene immediately recall the CoD: Modern Warfare games, but a closer inspections reveals something else; the back and forth between the player’s character and his AI pilot ally sounds strained and cracked – a million miles away from the professional zeal of CoD’s soldiers. The chase ends in a crash, and then the plot flashes back to a few weeks earlier. Dubai, it turns out, is in ruins after a cataclysmic sandstorm demolished a lot of the city, and cut it off from the outside world. After an appeal was sent out, a US army regiment called the 33rd diverted their progression home from Afghanistan and headed into the buried city. That was some time ago and it turns out that that US high command hasn’t heard from the 33rd, or its commander, Colonel Konrad, in quite some time.

A new portrayal of the military shooter experience with twisting narrative uncertainties.

To that end, it dispatches a three-man Delta Squad to Dubai to find out the reason Konrad isn’t answering their attempts to contact him. The team consists of Adams, a heavy gunner; Lugo, a mouthy sniper; and their commanding officer, Captain Walker, a man who served under Konrad in Afghanistan and considers him both a hero and a patriot. The game’s opening salvo unfolds in mere minutes and this set-up is typical of the drum-tight pacing of the game’s plot. There’s hardly an ounce of fat on the story and, even though Spec Ops: The Line has a couple of glaring issues in how it plays, the player never feels like they’re being shunted from one room to another in order to activate another drab cutscene. Unlike other shooters featuring the modern military, the game’s story takes few cues from contemporary action cinema, the odd epic gun battle notwithstanding. Instead, Yager is aiming for grittier territory in Spec Ops: The Line, which forgoes the usual machismo of a game of this type for something far darker; Apocalypse Now – and, by extension, Joseph Conrad’s Heart Of Darkness – looms large over the proceedings. As Walker and his men head into Dubai, they soon become aware that something very disturbing has taken place in the wake of Konrad’s arrival in the city. Arcade Paradise Switch NSP

They come across refugees who fire at anyone wearing a US army uniform, dead bodies strung up from lamp-posts and overpasses and walls covered in the pictures of lost loved ones. These signs of order breaking down in the city soon give way to scenes of abject trauma, testing the resolve of Walker and his men, whose core relationship soon begins to crack under the strain of what they’re seeing around them. The sense that madness has been allowed to run riot is compounded by the fact that all of this horror is surrounded by the remnants of a bastion to luxury and affluence. The game’s Dubai may lie in ruins, but what of it that remains in tact sits garishly next to the grisly scenes it houses. One minute, Walker and his men are wading through a mass grave, knee deep in charred corpses. The next, they’re standing in the lobby of a hotel staring up at two giant gold giraffes that flank a marble staircase in front of them, as fish swim in an aquarium in the floor beneath their feet. This bizarre clash of opulence and gore lends the city an otherworldly atmosphere and feeds into the unhinged mood of the story. After all the door kicking, screaming, blindfire, grenade tossing, and turret handling, a soldier always walks away from battle alive with a strong moral compass intact. This last detail is the most disparate departure from reality that modern military shooters make.

Customisable, Class-Based, Blazing Multiplayer.

Though we like to glorify soldiers in our entertainment, it’s impossible to look past the toll that killing takes on a person’s psyche in real life. To say the least, virtual soldiers seem to have a knack for shrugging off this psychological weight as easily as a shotgun blast to the shin. Spec Ops, however, is a game that likes to remind the player that every murder is paid in blood or, in the very least, a small loss of identity. As the narrative drives forward. the soldiers of Delta Force start to lose their morality. With no superior to give them orders and no comrades to cheer them on, they are reduced to killing machines walking a long road, hoping for an answer at its ends — not so much unlike the player. A soldier is nothing without orders and the orders are simple: Infiltrate Dubai to provide recon on missing Colonel John Konrad and his outfit, The Damned 33rd. By the time Captain Martin Walker and his two soldiers, Lugo and Adams, arrive, these orders mean little. The modern paradise of Dubai has been ravaged by sandstorms, spurring chaos on the streets below. At this point, Walker decides this is a rescue mission, not a reconnaissance mission. It’s not the last order he’ll give his team, but it’s certainly the most innocuous. Inspired by Heart of Darkness, Spec Ops is a harrowing, unassuming look at modern warfare.

It neither glorifies it nor condemns the player and Walker, as tough decisions are made. Do you kill the thief or the soldier that murdered his family in response? Do you rescue the civilians or the opposing agent that may provide you with the information you need? Though Spec Ops‘ decisions are binary — and mostly predetermined — at least the moral views binding behind them aren’t. In Spec Ops, you can only choose the least terrible decision and hope it eventually leads to a positive outcome.
