My Fantastic Ranch Switch NSP Free Download GAMESPACK.NET I may have spoken in the past about how the reality of being employed as a game critic means not always reviewing things I specifically want to. While it would be nice to always get to talk about the most popular games, there are processes for these things, and as such, we end up reviewing strange offerings like My Fantastic Ranch. By that very same token, I’ve mentioned before that part of the fun of diving into the indie scene is never fully knowing if a game will be very good, or utter garbage—as I maintain that it’s more interesting to review a good/bad game than a mediocre one. I went into My Fantastic Ranch, based on looks alone, thinking it was going to be terrible, and that I would have a fun time tearing it apart. What I got instead with My Fantastic Ranch was a surprisingly solid management sim that serves as an excellent introduction to the genre. My Fantastic Ranch begins simply enough with a fairy named Feritella guiding the player through the game’s basic systems of starting a ranch. Like most sim games there’s no real story component to it other than making a nice ranch to impress the Kingdom, so you can make a nicer ranch. While a possible story element would have been a nice addition to My Fantastic Ranch, the lack of one doesn’t subtract from the experience either. What matters most here is the gameplay, and honestly, it’s actually pretty solid. My Fantastic Ranch is essentially a beginner’s Cities Skylines. Players need to build and manage the various components that allow their ranch to function—Tack Sheds will increase the number of Creatures one can have, while Staff Offices will allow you to hire personnel to manage your Ranch. Players can then fill their ranches with dragons and unicorns, each of which has different elements and badges that give it different bonuses. Since the Ranch functions adjacent to the “Magic Institute,” students will come to visit and participate in different Arenas—this is how the Ranch generates income. Players must choose a staff member to manage the Arena, as well as pair students with their preference of dragon or unicorn in order to maximize profits. As well as profits, players must clear objectives to increase the Ranch’s reputation, allowing for more Arenas to be built, and more space to open up.

Take riding, flying and aerobatics lessons on the back of unicorns and dragons!

As the Ranch grows, players can add Dorms for students to live in and generate weekly income, as well as build a Festival Arena where the Prince and Princess will attend and give specific requirements that can greatly increase the Ranch’s reputation upon successful completion. While it’s mostly hands-off, there are a few times dragons or unicorns might “act silly” during an Arena and players will need to actively calm it down for better student satisfaction. It’s simple and straightforward while requiring a minimal level of strategy, and it is a perfect introduction for younger players into the genre. There’s enough variety while not being overwhelming, and the way Feritella guides players through every one of the game’s mechanics before taking her hands off the wheel for players gives younger players ample understanding of the game before giving them the freedom to build their own Ranch. Visually, the game has a minimalistic style, a chibi style that isn’t the most original but works for something of this scale. It utilizes a wide pallet of bright colours to create an environment that is fun and inviting. I was genuinely surprised that Feritella was fully voiced, and it’s genuinely well done.Pocket Pool Switch NSP

There isn’t a lot of music in the game, but what’s on offer is whimsical and suits the fantasy setting. While My Fantastic Ranch doesn’t really break the mould in any real way, it acts as a solid starting point for any young gamers looking to get into the simulation genre. I think it may have worked a bit better as a mobile game, as opposed to something you’d load up on your Switch—or even your Xbox Series X—but it’s an inoffensive game that does more good than bad. As soon as you start a new game, Feritella, your magical helper appears and guides you through the initial stages. It takes about 20 minutes to follow Feritella’s verbal and on-screen instructions. Although a bit wordy in parts, it’s worth doing as you end up with the start of your ranch. Once Feritella has finished her tutorial, you are free to carry on developing your ranch as you like. Don’t panic though, your personal assistant will pop back if anything needs explaining! In My Fantastic Ranch, you collect gems (currency) and reputation (experience) by giving lessons, competing in tournaments and completing the on-screen objectives. The higher your reputation level, the more buildings and decorations will unlock.

Take care of your fantastic creatures.

In order to unlock all the buildings, upgrades and land you need to reach level 10 (it will take about 6 to 8 hours). However, you can carry on playing and increasing your reputation after that. The more gems you have, the more you can buy, build and enter tournaments. There are three areas of land to build your ranch on, although you will only have access to one at the start. The building menu is really simple, with four tabs with just a handful of buildings, fields, decorative items or nature on each tab. It’s easy to see what level the next item unlocks at and it’s pleasing that the cost of each item doesn’t increase exponentially, which can be the case in some games. Once you’ve selected your building or decoration, a grid appears on the land to help position it. The selected building/decoration remains active, and helpful when placing trees, but not so when placing buildings, I ended up with an unwanted barn. You will get some gems back when you demolish a building, but not as many as it cost to build it. Nothing is final, you can always modify the location at any point. Although, if you want to move an arena, you will have to wait for any training to finish first. It was slightly tricky to highlight the small trees in order to move them, and removing paths was more luck than skill. Smurfs Kart Switch NSP

Before adopting any creatures, you need a tack room. This controls the number of mythical beasts you can adopt. A tiny tack room allows just 2 creatures to live on your ranch. There is a maximum of four tack rooms. You then upgrade them, rather than build more to increase your ranch size to its maximum of 24 beasts. Via the tack room, you adopt new creatures, check on the health and happiness of the ones you already have, or donate any you no longer want to keep. Each week you get three new creatures to choose from, and they are all pre-named. You can refresh the selection, although it costs a lot of gems to do so. There are different types of dragons and unicorns: earth; wind; water; fire; sugar; ethereal; country and celestial. The type of creature is relevant for completing some of the on-screen objectives, but mainly for participating in the festivals. Nonetheless, I managed to achieve level 10 without thinking about the type when I adopted a creature. However, as you progress beyond level 10, you might want to adopt certain types to ensure a more balanced ranch. Each creature needs a stable to sleep in. Unlike many games, a stable in My Fantastic Ranch is just for one beast, even after upgrades. As well as a bed, your adorable creatures need somewhere to play and food to eat, so you’ll want an enclosure and a barn.

Give fun lessons.

I am so happy I found this adorable little game! I really enjoy managing a cute, fantasy-themed ranch riddled with adorable ponies and dragons. I am not too far into my own ranch progression yet (I am currently doing the story mode, but there is a creative mode where you can do anything you would like) but am loving what I have done so far. If you like tycoon-like games but maybe wish they had a more wholesome theme or that they were more casual, this is a great time-passer. My only qualms with the game right now are some bugs (path-placing can be a bit weird sometimes) and lack of species. I do hope they add more animals, but I am honestly happy with the fantasy horses (UNICORNS!) and dragons. The art is really cute and I love how shimmery the animals look. The game feels almost nostalgic… like something I would have played as a little girl. If you want a wholesome game that will help you pass time and relax, this one is a gem.

Overall I did enjoy My Fantastic Ranch as the art style is very cute and I love dragons and unicorns! The management mechanics are simple and not overwhelming. But I would recommend purchasing the game when it goes on sale. For those that are interested, here are some of my further opinions/thoughts about the game: I do feel the game is expensive. At time of this review the game is not completed. If you follow the objectives you will eventually get told this, and I was unable to access some of the higher tier contests (unless I am missing something but it is not obvious? Since there are steam trophies available). Yet the game is not stated as Early Access, and people on console are expected to pay over £30 for this game. The graphics are bright and appealing. The dragons and unicorns are very cute and there is a lot of skin varieties. I was disappointed there is a creature cap because I would of liked to collect every skin type for my ranch. Your ranch is incredibly huge that currently the amount of space is unnecessary for the content that is available. It would be nice to have filter options to easily find creatures/riders with specific traits.

Your progression is soft locked behind completing objectives which I found a bit frustrating. I did encounter a few bugs – paths not showing, creatures stuck in training rings when the lesson finished, creatures/riders/staff saying path is blocked, silly behaviour is occurring but the culprit cannot be found! But saving and reloading did resolve my issues. I really hope they will add more content to this game in the future. Similar to the creature selection, you have a choice of three each week, with the option of a refresh. Each person has a starting skill, generally, they are good at cleaning out or feeding, but you can also get those who are better at handling animals or can teach more students. Make sure you have enough staff to look after your creatures. My dragons got hungry and consequently, very grumpy. On reflection, I think it was because I didn’t have enough staff and had put the barns too far away from the enclosures. One of the main features of My Fantastic Ranch is the training arenas. Once students start appearing at the ranch, you will need to keep them busy by giving them lessons. DRAGON BALL Z KAKAROT
