Back 4 Blood PS5 Free Download GAMESPACK.NET Amid a sea of seemingly endless looter-shooters, Back 4 Blood bucks a lot of trends in favor of something old-fashioned. After spending 25 hours with this four-player cooperative first-person shooter, I came to love its glorious white-knuckle tone, clever card-based progression, and varied, fist-pump-worthy campaign. An awkward difficulty curve and a stale versus mode prevent Back 4 Blood from moving into a full-blown sprint, but it still provides an exciting mix of new and old ideas as you mow down shambling legions of the undead. Set in a post-apocalyptic world where popping zombies (called “Ridden” here) in the head is as ordinary as brushing your teeth, Back 4 Blood follows a community of survivors trying not to get their jugulars torn out before breakfast. This isn’t a plot you’ll get deeply invested in, as it’s just a series of thinly-veiled excuses to shoot zombies with friends, but that’s all the justification the four-act campaign needs. Despite dire circumstances, it’s actually a pretty lighthearted romp, with seven playable “Cleaner” characters frequently cracking jokes amid impending doom.TOP/BEST ADULT VIDEO GAMES IN UNITED STATES OF AMERICA (USA)

My favorite is Karlee, a punk-rocker who’s prone to blaming teammates for standing in the way of her bullets should friendly fire ensue. By the time my friends and I were held up in a bar, mowing down hundreds of zombies as Black Betty by Spiderbait blasted over the jukebox, I was fully on-board with Back 4 Blood’s silly, upbeat mood. That surprisingly pleasant attitude pervades combat in Back 4 Blood as well. All too often, I found myself grinning over utterly absurd sights, like Sleeper Ridden sitting comfortably in meaty wall-mounted cocoons suddenly springing to life then pinning a teammate to the floor. Or hucking frag grenades into a crowd of living dead only to have the ensuing sinew-showers drench friends. Laughs aside, the gunplay has quite a satisfying kick too. The M249 light machine gun packs enough of a wallop at high firing rates that I nearly always carried one, particularly if I found any damage-enhancing attachments laying around. Whether you’re into high-powered magnums or lighting fast assault rifles, every weapon feels excellent in Back 4 Blood.

Back 4 Blood Annual Pass.

Even just a bat with a nail or two pounded through it! It’s a shame then that losing sight of your target is incredibly easy during wild, up-close brawls. Too often, I’d accidentally tag friends with stray bullets while attempting to differentiate them from the sea of bodies rushing us like an unholy mosh pit because combat readability is sorely lacking. Your character can often come out of fights covered in blood and guts looking like a zombie, and that’s decidedly not great when the entire goal is to kill anything even remotely resembling one. What’s more egregious is several Ridden types look nearly identical despite behaving differently from one another. Exploders and Retches are both bloated masses with broad shoulders, yet the former run towards you and, well, explodes, while the latter vomits acid from a distance. They have a few distinct features that you can recognize to tell them apart, but it’s stuff like small spikes on their arms that are easy to miss in the thick of a fight – and a wrong guess on your part can have significant consequences. Back 4 Blood’s shockingly in-depth card system is the right sort of thing to get lost in, thankfully.Paradise Lust

Deck-building might sound hilariously ill-fitting for a game about rattling off thousands of rounds at walking corpses, but it’s maybe my favorite addition to this familiar formula. Before missions, you can equip several cards that modify a Cleaner’s stats and abilities. There’s a starter deck, and you’ll find more scattered throughout environments or by plugging points earned in missions into the light progression treadmill called supply lines. Since Karlee was my main and her unique Cleaner card buffs item-use speed, I wanted to keep up a fast pace on her feet and in her holster as well. So I built a deck with Superior Cardio, which increases stamina regen like nobody’s business, and Power Swap, adding a hefty 20% damage boon to weapons after swapping between primary and secondary sidearms right before a clip runs dry. Stopping for anything became a fleeting memory with these cards, as I could bolt to and fro while often one-tapping through the undead hordes. Compared to what others have come up with, my deck was relatively simple. A friend cleverly combined the effects of several cards so that he would gain loads of health back after swinging away at Ridden en masse.

Competitive Multiplayer.

Even ridiculous decks like that don’t feel overpowered, though, as corruption cards crop up mid-mission to counterbalance your boons with challenging modifiers. For example, just when we thought our builds were too strong, one corruption card spiced things up by adding an Ogre, a 20-foot tall lumbering mountain of flesh and bone, to the mission. Cards add brilliant RPG-like random elements while not veering off entirely into levels and skill trees. Remember when Left 4 Dead established the run-and-gun co-op genre as we know it, and then Valve stopped making them after hitting the number 2? I love Left 4 Dead 2 and still go back to it because no other co-op game has managed to scratch the same itch. World War Z wasn’t my thing. Payday 2 was meh. Deep Rock Galactic is great, but different. Killing Floor 2 and Vermintide are fine. Back 4 Blood, which was made by the original Left 4 Dead studio that Valve gobbled up and then spit back out years ago, is a remarkably fun shooter that manages to out-zombie Left 4 Dead, which I was starting to believe was impossible. Back 4 Blood recaptures the tempo of 2009, where I’m lining up headshots by the dozen while I shoot the shit with friends.Made In Abyss: Binary Star Falling Into Darkness

Turtle Rock has faithfully resurrected the fun, heart-pumping zombie slaying that others have only attempted. Just making an unambitious Left 4 Dead 3 would’ve been enough for me, but Back 4 Blood is also a deck builder, a looter, a hero shooter, and even a bit of a roguelite. It’s a game that Turtle Rock couldn’t have made 10 years ago, and it’s the addition of these smart, modern ideas that make it great. Right from the jump, Back 4 Blood flips the premise of Left 4 Dead on its head. You’re no longer average-joe survivors scrambling to escape crumbling cities. You’re zombie-killing mercenaries who hunt down infestations, rescue trapped civilians, and gather supplies for surviving settlements. Each bundle of levels begins with your party leaving the safety of the Fort Hope hub world to go look for trouble. It’s kinda like skipping straight to later seasons of The Walking Dead in which everyone still alive is a superhuman murder machine. This describes Back 4 Blood’s Cleaners, eight tough characters with unique stat bonuses for themselves and the entire team. These aren’t Overwatch heroes with splashy ultimate abilities, but the Cleaners do invite interesting.

Extreme Replayability.

slightly different playstyles—Holly is a melee specialist who earns stamina back on each kill, Hoffman carries an extra grenade and gives the whole team more ammo, and Mom gets a free revive once per mission. As I mentioned in my initial impressions, I’ve enjoyed maining Doc for most of my runs. Not only can she use medkits faster and heal everyone for free, but she also starts with the M9 pistol and MP5, two of my favorite guns. Picking a survivor in Left 4 Dead is mostly about whose voice quips you’d like to hear. Back 4 Blood’s Cleaners quickly won me over, not because they have a ton of personality, but because it’s fun to play a specific role in this sort of game. Even more depth emerged once I started combining Cleaner abilities with the game’s other standout mechanic—deckbuilding. The Turtle Rock Studios-developed Back 4 Blood is billed as the spiritual successor to the legendary Left 4 Dead series, which makes sense as several team members worked on Valve’s classic, multiplayer zombie shooter. When its visuals, gunplay, maps, music, and enemies fall into place, the $59.99 Back 4 Blood nails that frantic, cooperative action that made Left 4 Dead such a joy to play.

Unfortunately, these elements don’t come together as often as they should, leaving you with a fun, but somewhat flat, PC game. For the uninitiated, Back 4 Blood is a four-player, cooperative, first-person shooter. You and up to three friends (called Cleaners) traverse environments full of zombies (known as Ridden) to reach a safe house, while completing the occasional sub-objective. Back 4 Blood has a solid matchmaking system, and even lets you join games mid-progress, so you can easily fill spots if teammates drop or disconnect. AI-controlled NPCs fill vacant slots if you don’t have a four-player squad. Most Ridden are cannon fodder that you can easily mow down with your arsenal of handguns, shotguns, assault rifles, and throwable explosives. Common Ridden are only a threat when they swarm you, but Special Ridden have unique abilities that threaten your team. Hockers spit paralyzing goo that locks you in place. Tallboys squeeze you with their giant right hands. Snitches call hordes to your location. Retches alert hordes with their corrosive bile. The 20-foot tall Ogres are effectively bosses who can wipe out your entire squad with just a few devastating attacks.

In a nice touch, the Ridden appear in randomized waves, meaning no two encounters are the same. This all sounds great on paper, but there are notable flaws with how Special Ridden engage you that sours the overall experience. It’s hard not to compare Back 4 Blood to Left 4 Dead, but the Special Zombies in the latter game felt unique not only in their play, but also with how they interacted with the world. For example, Chargers shoved you off maps, and the ape-like Jockey dragged you into alcoves, away from your teammates.Back 4 Blood’s Special Ridden don’t have nearly enough terrain interactions to make them interesting, so more often than not they just feel like dangerous bullet sponges that spawn far too frequently to feel fair or fun. The challenge comes from the game spawning Special Ridden into rooms you’ve cleared, ad infinitum, until you’ve met your objective. There are no audio cues to signal a monster’s location, and they don’t hide in wait to ambush you later; they just spawn and lunge. It’s unsatisfying, especially compared to how Left 4 Dead handled similar enemies. Visually, Back 4 Blood straddles the fence between realism and cartoonish violence, with run-of-the-mill farmstead, factory, and cityscape environments accentuated by highly saturated colors that pop in the dark.IMMORTALITY
