Any fans of Starfox-inspired shooters and rougelite (rouge-like) style games will love this game. It has an incredible arcade-like feel, on par story for this type of game, great mechanics, great upgrades and progression to keep you engaged and wanting more. Parts of this game even take me back to some of the side-scroller shoot-em-ups like Life Force, R-Type, Ikagura, etc. – Each run seems to have a theme of powerups which makes each run unique and interesting and making you want to come back for more. Highly recommended for anyone remotely fond of this style of game. P.S. there is a practice game called “Do a Barrel Roll” which all the Starfox fans will appreciate.

Only things I’d love to see in improved in this game You can only roll left and right, but cannot simply tilt your ship left or right to squeeze through tight spaces. I’d love to see this implemented into the game. Ship rolls are tied to your overall energy, which is problematic since most of the time you need to use all of your energy on your main weapon (especially the blast cannon). In the heat of battle you spend most of your energy so if you see that you need to deflect/obsorb shots you usually can’t do it because your energy is drained and you just have to take the hit (unknowingly). I’d suggest that rolls are removed from the energy pool, and if the concern is that people will just spam rolls to get out of all damage (i.e. Starfox) then introduce a separate cool-down to keeps people from spamming rolls.. such as “first roll xxx, can only occur every 3 seconds” type thing. It just feels a bit congested to have the Main Weapon, the Booster AND rolls, ALL take from your very limited energy pool. I’m sure this get better as you level up, but that takes a long time to level up. Die in the Dungeon

I’d love to see even more risk and reward implemented to an Action Zone map. It often feels like the path to the main adversary is pretty much the same no matter what path you take, with the exception of the /!\ areas that give you a benefit a major cost, but all in all the path to the boss of the zone is the same no matter what path you take. It would be nice that on occasion the path includes a path that can be more unique, i.e. one path is more direct vs. the other paths let you go through many nodes to collect many scrap and power-ups before the boss.
