For people looking for a brutally hard game to play, I’ll recommend it since I’ve kinda died a lot to the first boss making my opinion about this game looking more like a souls game without the whole losing stuff on death part, while also having metroidvaina wise gameplay. If you can handle the gore and other stuff of this game and like a hard challange, then I’ll recommend it. Once again, if you are here for THAT reason, this is the internet, there is MUCH better and for free… you weirdo. On to the gameplay, this is a platformer, the controls are responsive enough. you have melee attacks, guns and special skills all used through 4 buttons and you dont have to select them in a menu, meaning, the actions are triggered by combinations of those for buttons and the situation you find yourself in. The game CAN be hard in the sense that you need to get used to the rythm of your enemy and choose which moves to use to your advantage, set a plan, stick to and be punished for any step you miss. The story is almost non existant, there is no dialogue, no introduction, nothing, BUT its pretty straightfoward and unambiguous, so you dont feel like you are missing something like in many other games today. The artstyle is crap, and the music is passsable at best. So why the thumbs up? because it delivers a fun passage of time, not throwing any bs at you and for a coherent price. I just came from playing “unworthy” those guys coul’ve taken a note or two from this game.
