Slaycation Paradise is an upcoming action strategy game for Windows PCs. The game is set in a multi-dimensional future where alternate world travel is possible, and exploration of these various timelines has become as commonplace as hopping into a car is to us today. With an endless number of worlds for people to explore, it was only a matter of time before exploring the most hazardous or dangerous worlds became an opportunity for thrill seekers. As one of these “vacationers,” you’ll travel through space and time to a strange world, like a zombie apocalypse, or a space infested with luchadores that want to wrestle everything to death. But while this is a “fun trip,” you don’t have time to sightsee. Instead, you’ll hunt for blueprints and weapons that might be scattered in the environment that can be used against incoming threats.

Unique And Exotic Apocalyptic Locations.

You’ll also collect scrap, which can be used to construct fences and defensive turrets to blast attackers. After you arrive, you’ll have a limited amount of time to conduct your search and prepare your defense before you’re swarmed from all sides. At that point, a timer counts down until the travel agency opens a portal to bring you back to your time with any items you’ve found, at which point you’ll receive a score for your destruction, before sending you to the next location. Violence is constant on each stage, and there will be blood shown as you eliminate enemies. There’s also a stage where you’ll face off against inflatable dolls that happen to be naked, although genitalia is blurred out. The game also has a visual style that’s tongue in cheek, with imagery that’s reminiscent of a card found in the back pocket of an airplane seat, which reduces the impact of the violence and other mature content. Each location has a number of different levels, all with their own challenges to beat. Maybe you’ll need to slay 150 enemies and escape to tell the tale. Or maybe you’ll need to destroy a number of gelatinous enemy nests. Whatever task is at hand, though, the action boils down to the same thing: make your way through waves of enemies, using weapons, skills and defences. It’s the sort of action that doesn’t get old quickly, though. We’ve jumped into the demo’s levels time and again, grinning happily as we lay waste to Slaycation Paradise‘s cast of weird and wonderful enemies. Even when we’ve failed – which we have, more than once – we’ve dusted ourselves off, jumping straight back in. By collecting blueprints and currency (which you’ll earn by killing enemies) you can unlock new weapons and defences, making future runs just that bit easier. I’m not typically one for twin-stick shooters or the tower defense genre whatsoever, but something about Slaycation Paradise drew me in from the get-go.

It was quirky, explosive, and, from what I could gather by the marketing material, the game didn’t take itself seriously. In my book, that’s a huge plus. Every big release this year is so full of itself, so serious. I want a little fun in my video games, sue me. Slaycation Paradise delivers the fun in spades. Admittedly, I’ve only managed to play through the first two areas: New Amsterdam and Mexico. Both offer a ton of variety in both level and creature design. My biggest gripe, thus far, is that I cannot create and customize a character. I don’t mind the anonymous protagonist we play as, but I’d like a little more personalization. Maybe in a future DLC? Besides that, the only other gripe I had in my notebook was the inability to magnetically draw in scrap — an issue quickly resolved when I discovered the progression board with RPG-like skills and boons to enhance the experience and my odds of survival. It worked. All in all, Slaycation Paradise is a fun, albeit relatively short, experience that allows me to click off my brain and dump magazine after magazine of submachine gun ammo into blow-up dolls and luchadores to my heart’s content!OnlyFuck 2 Scarlett

Stay tuned for a full review as I put more time into the game over at:I love the idea of the game. i really do, but there are things that should be changed. namely restricting the player with a timer. could have gone a route where you make the player gather and build defenses for an area, waves attacks an then the player is given a choice to move on or stick it out. The more you stick it out the better stuff you get. something like that would be way better then a timer. rushing the player makes them miss out on the level detail an forces an tunnel vision thing ( my opinion an like an ass everyone has those LMAO ). And if I had seen the timer in the screen shots I most likely would not have try’d the game.
