Pilgrims Switch NSP Free Download GAMESPACK.NET If I could bottle the spirit that must go into making every Amanita Design game, I’d be very rich and happy. The Czech developers behind beloved indie titles like Machinarium, Samorost and the recent CHUCHEL have done it again with their latest title, Pilgrims, creating an infectiously joyful romp across a beautifully hand-drawn 2D kingdom of dragons, kings and princesses, without even writing one line of dialogue. Sure, it’s a short trip, but the unlockable achievement system and gameplay mechanic that sees you building a card deck of objects and characters to combine with different environmental elements at will means there’s plenty of replay value. And with such fun to be had boozing with priests, fighting bears and cooking up potent magic mushroom formulas, who wouldn’t want to return? The story itself is slight but perfectly told using Amanita’s trademark combination of pictograms in speech bubbles and spoken gibberish, wonderfully performed to match each character’s personality. A beaming cleric speaks nonsense in a high-pitched sing-song tone whilst a monarch sounds regal and haughty. TOP/BEST ADULT VIDEO GAMES IN UNITED STATES OF AMERICA (USA)

You play a traveler desperate to be taken down the river on a boat by a sleepy old hag, but to stay awake she needs a particular type of songbird. So you set out to search for it, given free rein to explore the map from a bird’s eye view and choose your next location. Drop into a particular point on the map – a pub, a pond, a castle and so on – and you’ll be taken to that locale, where you’ll get to use the game’s inventive card-based system (a variation of the one originally introduced as a minigame in Samorost 3). After a short skippable cut scene, which normally lays out what you need to achieve, you can decide to play one of a number of cards in your collection. Rather than a traditional inventory, the objects you pick up – a gun, a pot or a bunch of flowers, to name just a few of the dozen or more in total – and the characters who join you along the way – a beggar, a thug and even the devil – are transformed into a playable deck at the bottom of the screen, to be used in whatever combination you like. For example, you might arrive at the pub and decide to play your pilgrim card. By clicking and dragging the card onto the scene, you select him as the character you want.

Solve the various tasks using dozens of items and unique characters without being obliged to follow a single designated path.

Next, the bartender indicates you need money if you’d like a beer (typical!), so you drag your coin card up and now the pilgrim pays for a drink. Not all the puzzles are as simple as this – there’s a bit of to-ing and fro-ing between locations to get what you need (you won’t always have the required cards at hand and will have to go find the necessary objects somewhere else first), but everything is fairly easy to figure out and doesn’t require too many leaps of imagination. There are different ways to progress through the game, so whilst you do have to complete a quest for each character you collect (help the devil capture someone’s soul, get the beggar a house, etc.) to eventually find that blasted bird, there’s more than one way of getting to the end goal for each. As well as just experimenting to see what reaction using every different object with every character has, what really opens the game up to endless opportunities for mischievousness and creativity is that the cast react differently depending on who you choose to play in each setting. Return to the pub and select the beggar and you’ll get a beer on the house – which when combined with another paid-for beer with your coin card results in getting far more sozzled than you ever can as the traveler and unlocking further hilarious animations. It’s a simple take on the typical adventure game system of finding and combining objects with things to solve puzzles or just for fun, which fits really well with the primitive fairytale setting. Alongside the quirky dialogue of gobbledygook is a full score by Tomas Dvorak, also known as Floex, who previously composed for Amanita games such as Machinarium and Samorost 3. It’s a mix of live instruments and organic electronics played to excellent comic effect according to what’s happening. For instance, get the beggar blind drunk and suddenly the cheerful music slows and stutters, notes stumbling over themselves, much as your character does. Accompanying the individual context-specific sound effects, the score builds to create an evocative and whimsical soundscape that manages to get to the heart of every monster, hero or civilian effortlessly and wordlessly.

Packed with 45 achievements, Pilgrims is a game designed to be played through more than just once

I’m not sure if it’s the game design or the short humorous stories, but I can’t shake the comparison to Jan Werich’s Fimfár. Despite the English name, Pilgrims is a true Czech game, which not only features the unmistakable Amanita treatment, but above all Czech humor and our version of fairy-tale characters. It would be hard for us to find such an inferno like in Pilgrims or a dragon that is cut out of my favorite children’s fairy tale about Prince Bajaj in foreign works. Pilgrims represent the best that Czech culture can offer. We have a wanderer in the main role, a robber from the forest, a grandmother fighting for a cottage with a witch, a king whose daughter is being wooed by a hellish sleigh, and the comic figure of an alcoholic-cleric must not be missing either. The single character player completes very simple tasks within good old point-and-click adventure gameplay. A big advantage of Pilgrims is, in addition to the fairy tale, the easy difficulty, which makes the game an ideal family entertainment for players with children. The Unliving

The tasks are built on the principle of “grandfather changed until he changed”, so you can get boiled potatoes through a robber who joins you for a bottle of schnapps, which the innkeeper will only exchange for good boiled fish. Of course, it makes no sense to describe in detail all the plots of a very short game, but I can say that, for example, I really enjoyed cooking a toadstool decoction. It takes about an hour to walk through the Pilgrims. However, the very short playing time is compensated by the replayability, because most of the puzzles and tasks offer more types of solutions, which may not be apparent at first glance. The individual phases of the game are accompanied by winning illustrated cards with motifs of the protagonist’s deeds. While viewing them, you can also peek under the cover of all the other cards and get some advice about the next possible course of action. And above all other ends that you can achieve. The dragon question can be solved in a few different ways, and it’s up to you how you approach the whole thing. In this regard, the already mentioned secondary characters are absolutely essential, they will often join you and allow you to find other uses for the items you get.

Hundreds of unique animations and custom made sound effects result in countless humorous and unexpected outcomes.

While the main character doesn’t know how to handle the rope very well, the old grandmother can put on a humorous show with him and the devil knows exactly how to bind church dignitaries with such a rope. However, the moment you complete one such task, you lose your companion and their card, which can be used to solve other situations. For example, what would the devil do when meeting an innkeeper, a bear or a dragon? You have to find out for yourself. Sometimes it’s easy to overlook a variation even in a game this simple, but that’s what Pilgrims is all about. Pilgrims is a playful adventure game, created by the team behind Machinarium and Samorost. Roam the land as you please and make new friends, share a laugh with your fellow travelers and help them complete their little stories, your way. How many different solutions can you find You’re a pilgrim trying to get to the next rest stop. You go from place to place on a small map solving simple visual puzzles. The object is to unlock the ferryman who will take you to your next destination at which point the game is over.

It’s a beautiful game. Touching, whimsical, and humorous. All the characters are colorful and distinct. Great music. It’s the kind of game you beat in an hour at a leisurely pace just because its easy-going fun. The game isn’t particularly difficult, though getting some of the achievements may take some experimentation. Pilgrims is one of Amanita’s shortest games, but in my opinion one of the better ones. It has a colorful world with a sharper animated aesthetic. It shakes up what you expect from an Amanita game by introducing a card based gameplay system that works in this game’s favor. The music is very strong as usual and the story is a bit more interesting than titles like Chuchel. Also, instead of a linear one way to complete each task there are many times throughout the game where you are given several options to tackle a problem. The biggest replay value this game has and reason why I put another half an hour into the game is all of the achievements to collect. Finally the biggest problem with previous Amanita games was the unskippable animations or cutscenes. Fortunately this game fixes that by allowing you to press a fast forward button and skip redundant animations.

Once again I would recommend this game to any point and click fans as I consider it one of Amanita’s better ones. No introduction, no instruction nor CG, enter the game and start to click and play. – Walk on the big map then make a stop to enter the campfire, the lake or the building, the rule is simple, good to keep it brief. Game does not have a single word put but soon I understand what the NPC wants, the graphics are well presented and universal. The logic is simple, like fishing rod – worm – lake; bucket – water – boil food, and the items are easy to spot. It is supposed to be a relaxing game, and funny if you try different things on NPCs, I extremely enjoy the funny dance to entertain the business man and the crazy run after eating a hot mushroom. There are multiple ways to help the companions, use for items is not limited, too, like you can give the gem to the businessman or to the king. I later learnt that if not slay the dragon, the player can actually make the princess and the dragon a couple, how interesting is that. You have multiple objects to try and each may lead to surprising to hilarious results, and the game encourages players to do so. BIGFOOT
