One Step From Eden has to be one of my favorite rougelikes ever. However, there are many issues with the game depending on how you play. This game is stupid hard but I think that makes it great. The deck building aspect is great with a myriad of different types of spells plus artifact and characters. A lot of this game I feel is learning how you want to play and go through this. Or at least it is for me. The game lends its self to large hand crafted decks with combo cards so you can destroy a boss. It also can be you picking up any card and artifact, realizing you’re at the final stage and only have 500 health and throwing everything you have against the wall. The ability to chose the type of card you want is a great if you are trying to build a deck on a specific type of card or can be completely useless depending on how you play. Both play styles work and I have done both. Going through with each character also feels completely different and their own play style rather than just a sprite change. Its stupid addicting to just say I want to try one more time and now its 2 am and you have an exam tomorrow. The primary game play loop is so good.Cursed Mansion
