ONE PIECE World Seeker  Free Download GAMESPACK.NET I love One Piece. I love its world, its characters, and its sense of humor, all of which are wonderfully realized in One Piece World Seeker. As an original and interactive One Piece adventure, World Seeker actually delivers a respectable story with interesting new characters, written by Eiichiro Oda himself. Of course, in order to get to that story you have to first play One Piece World Seeker, which is about 20 hours of boring, repetitive, and at times downright infuriating open*world gameplay. World Seeker drops you into the red vest, blue shorts, and flipflops of Monkey D. Luffy as he and the rest of the Straw Hat Pirates arrive on Prison Island in search of treasure. As it turns out, the treasure was a lie, and the crew now find themselves split up and stranded on the island as a nefarious plot starts to unfold in the shadows, with the island’s warden, Isaac, at the center. Though it starts slow because of the sheer volume of inconsequential sidequests that get in the way of the main plot, the overarching story is by far the best part of World Seeker. Prison Island is an interesting setting that I was happy to learn more about as the story went on, and the two original characters, Jeanne and Isaac, wound up being the highlights as the story approached its climax and surprisingly emotional ending. It’s nowhere near the quality level of a standard One Piece arc, but for what essentially amounts to filler, World Seeker’s story is surprising in all the right ways. It helps, too, that it looks way better than it plays, and that the big moments are told via beautifully rendered cutscenes featuring full voice acting from the usual cast, along with the fantastic Rikiya Koyama and Ayumi Fujimura as Isaac and Jeanne respectively. The smaller moments are told with single-line quips and text, but the animations are charming and perfectly encapsulate each character. Unfortunately, while the story gets much better as it goes on, the actual gameplay of World Seeker does not. World Seeker is a bland and formulaic open-world adventure, which means you’ll spend a lot of time going from waypoint to waypoint, taking on main missions and side missions that both have you going to a spot, beating up a bunch of dudes, collecting a bunch of meaningless sparklies on the ground.

Or opening treasure chests that take an excruciatingly long time to reveal their contents. This wouldn’t be quite as tiresome if at least the gameplay offered some variation in how you accomplish this same handful of tasks, but the combat in World Seeker is just as repetitive and boring as its mission design. To his credit, Luffy has two Haki stances that he can swap between on the fly: Observational Haki stance focuses on quick strikes and evasive movement, while Armament Haki focuses on slow-but-strong attacks and a tankier style of defense that allows you to block powerful strikes. The problem is that the enemies barely do anything that would require you to give any thought to the combat whatsoever. For the most part, it didn’t matter what kind of enemies I faced or which of the stances I use, because I still just got up in their face and mindlessly mashed the same button until everything was dead. (It’s hard to get creative when the obvious solution is right in front of you, and less obvious solutions aren’t any more fun in the first place. Pokémon Violet XCI

There are a few enemies, like the shielded marines and robots, that require you to use ranged attacks, but apart from that, every fight against regular enemies played out almost exactly the same way. That got old within an hour, and there were 19 left go. Completing missions rewards skill points that can be used to purchase new abilities from four skill trees, but none of them evolve the combat in a way that makes it any more interesting. Sure, getting Bazooka in the Armament stance gave me a way to deal huge damage to single targets, but ultimately all it did was make it so that instead of running into a fight pressing one button a bunch of times I just ran into a fight holding one button for a few seconds. It’s not interesting. I, like many fans, have been waiting for a truly great anime game for years. Dragon Ball FighterZ was a sign that it could be done, but since then there hasn’t been many big budget, ambitious anime titles. That is, until now. Finally we have One Piece: World Seeker, an ambitious open world anime game which promises to tell a compelling One Piece story, while also providing us with a fun open world adventure.

STRAW HAT PIRATES.

Up until now, anime games have been either fun with a bad story or boring with a quality story, rarely both. Can World Seeker break the mould? World Seeker does a great job of setting up an exciting One Piece story. The Straw Hat Pirates land at an island that the Navy has complete control of, and Luffy, the captain, instantly starts making trouble and fighting with the local Navy captain, who is in control with a legion of unique technology, including robot drone fighters. If you’re a fan of One Piece, this has a lot to offer. The Straw Hat cast is always a plus, and they all look incredibly animated and designed. This is one of the best representations of anime characters in a game that I’ve seen. There are also plenty of callbacks and references to events in One Piece, both canon and non-canon. Attack animations from characters look great too, from smoke-infused enemies to others that bubble with magma, the animations on all of these effects look wonderful. It’s such a shame that the world looks so bland in comparison. The island you explore as Luffy is boring. It looks like a mash-up of different stock Unreal Engine assets and textures, thrown together to hastily create a world for Luffy to run around in. Godlike Burger Switch NSP

It is. All seamless and explorable from the beginning, which is great, but it could use layers of extra polish. And that polish is needed in the combat. Combat and exploration can be upgraded through skill points you gather. Yes, it’s another typical progression skill tree, and it’s dumb that every open-world adventure has these, but here it really does open up the world when you upgrade yourself. But the combat remains stilted. It gets easier, faster, more satisfying, but it doesn’t progress much farther than mashing an attack button and rarely using a special move. Though, there are also stealth mechanics in play here, allowing you to take down opponents that are unaware of you, and get around that at times awkward combat. It honestly feels superfluous though, and not an essential part of Luffy’s moves. Though, it might be necessary just since head to head combat can be so finicky, especially when it comes to Navy snipers, that can seemingly hit you out of the sky with perfect precision from long distances, as long as they have a line of sight.

GAMEPLAY.

These can be tough to avoid, and their accuracy rate is so absurd it feels like a bug. Other enemies have criminal amounts of health too, requiring you to hide and heal or avoid them entirely. Yes, there are definitely complaints to make about World Seeker, but it has strong points too. One in particular is the exploration. Swinging from the environment feels awful at first. You can look at buildings or fences and tap the shoulder button to snap to them with your rubbery arms. That is terrible in the beginning, but when you upgrade your skills and add the Rocket ability, exploration opens up massively, and you’ll find yourself moving across the entire island quickly. It can be very satisfying. The story feels good too. Not amazing, but this story could easily work as a One Piece movie, and it is easy to imagine this tale fitting right in with the canon of One Piece. Outstanding by no means, but very enjoyable for One Piece fans. But of course the main problem is the missions. You’ll spend your time with fetch quests, beating enemies or looking for someone in a Batman-style detective mode.

It can get laborious fast, and as a result, the game only feels worthwhile for One Piece fans. It’s a shame, because they made a good open world game, and then dragged the experience down with poor missions. If this were a shorter, snappier experience with less mandatory fetch quests, it’d honestly be a much better game. All of the missions feel like filler, and a more streamlined story would’ve been much better. One Piece: World Seeker has so many solid ideas on paper that, if executed properly, should’ve made it one of the best-licensed anime games on the market right now. However, as you might’ve guessed, the game presents these ideas well enough but never fully executes them properly to make for an enjoyable, and more importantly, fun experience. While One Piece: World Seeker isn’t an amazing game by any stretch, it may be one that longtime fans of the series can pick up and enjoy, and it certainly has the basis for a sequel that could be a lot better. World Seeker takes place in Jail Island, which is located in the New World.

There’s a very interesting premise for this story even if it’s one that’s non-canonical to the anime. Following the death of the island’s leader, Jail Island becomes unstable with political and economic turmoil as the Navy steps in alongside those who are anti-Navy. Of course, the Straw-Hat Pirates find themselves at the center of this conflict. Players may be disappointed to hear that you’ll be experiencing this adventure as Luffy, while the remaining crew members are left aside as quest-givers who make an occasional appearance throughout the plot. On top of this, none of the new characters introduced inOne Piece: World Seeker are particularly interesting. However, fans might find more to latch onto when it comes to the game’s traversal and open-world. While I’d say the open-world in One Piece: World Seeker is pretty barebones when compared to more critically-acclaimed games in the genre, it’s undoubtedly pretty and fun to run around in. There were plenty of moments I found myself gazing over a large vista, with the game’s Steel City in the background accompanied by some mountains and open ocean. In these moments, One Piece: World Seeker truly feels quite adventurous. Tactics Ogre Reborn
