NeverAwake Switch XCI Free Download GAMESPACK.NET NeverAwake has you play as a comatose girl who’s fighting off her innermost fears that manifest in ghoulish creatures. Considering she’s scared of vegetables, dogs, social interaction with her school chums, and hospitals; the sorts of enemies that you face are modeled after such things within the themed environments that each contain 10 stages including a few boss fights. This is a very clever premise for a game and on top of that, the gameplay is adaptive as to allow anyone to enjoy it no matter how many times you have to retry. One aspect that makes NeverAwake’s clever premise shine beautifully is its striking presentation complete with stylish visuals, devilishly-animated enemies, and neon shot effects that’ll get burned in your retinas. Speaking of enemies, they’re quite ugly but in a nightmarish way that fits the story perfectly and the fact that they’re 2D sprites while you control a 3D avatar makes for a wonderful contrast. Plus, the ambient music of the menus blends well with the upbeat tunes when you’re shooting and the effects are subdued enough to remain satisfying while not becoming annoying. I also like little audio embellishments such as how the dogs bark quietly.TOP/BEST ADULT VIDEO GAMES IN UNITED STATES OF AMERICA (USA)

NeverAwake is one of those rare hybrids of a typical scrolling shoot ’em up and a twin-stick shooter which reminds me of the classic Gley Lancer as well as a modern example of the genre, REMOTE LIFE. This combo creates a formula that keeps you on the edge of your seat as you never know where the enemies will spawn next and trying to avoid projectiles from all directions as you carefully aim your shots provides top-notch frantic fun. The only other controls allow you to dash out of harm’s way as well as utilize a special weapon. This might be simple and easy to understand but the difficulty certainly ramps up, especially halfway through the campaign. As you play NeverAwake, you’ll amass currency that you can spend on special weapons and accessories as well as temporary boosts to your capabilities for a one-time fee if you’re struggling in any particular level. The weapons and accessories unlock in the shop in a seemingly random fashion but they appear to become available when you fail a certain amount of times or finish specific levels. Anyway, changing up your special weapon regularly is fun and optimizing your loadout of accessories to fit your play style is gratifying stuff for sure. You’ll also unlock an album and diary entries as you play through the stages while following particular conditions.

A unique world view set in the “inside of a girl’s nightmare”.

There’s a lot to do!  Although I absolutely love NeverAwake, it does have its annoying moments. For one, certain levels play oddly and will likely require multiple attempts as you figure them out. You see; a stage is completed when you collect a certain amount of souls and it loops and becomes more difficult if you don’t collect enough. However, some stages only have souls spawn from certain enemies which can be confusing. Also, the scrolling can often be unpredictable and may catch you off guard. Similarly, some of the bosses are way too aggressive and made me quite frustrated such as one that relentlessly attacks with unclearable projectiles that stay onscreen for way too long. I wish that these moments were balanced to feel more in-line with the rest of the campaign as they can be disheartening. Shoot ’em ups (or shmups) are not known for having many hours of content. Sure, people can dump time into them, but that’s usually due to how much practice they require along with the potential for chasing higher and higher scores. NeverAwake isn’t just a great shmup with a wondrous visual style, it’s also one of the beefiest shmups I’ve ever seen.Persona 3 Portable Switch NSP

Some of the levels fumble a bit when it comes to design, and I’m still not sure how to complete certain challenges. But this is a unique, absorbing game for anyone who likes to weave away from bullets and obstacles while frantically firing. NeverAwake is set within the mind of a young girl named Rem as she lies in a hospital bed after falling into a coma for reasons not initially specified. The game has seven main worlds, each with its own theme. They convey information about Rem’s life, as well as provide context toward why that certain thing is on her mind. Unlocking a new level rewards you with a new diary entry that grants a bit more insight. It all amounts to a fairly honest and touching look at depression, social anxiety, isolation, and grief. NeverAwake has some high-class production values. Most everything is rendered in 2D, save for the player model representing Rem herself. From the fodder to the more imposing menaces and bosses, enemies are all exquisitely detailed as they glide over nightmarish vistas depicting exaggerated versions of mundane locations. The developer’s previous shmup was very rough and simplistic as far as visuals go. The step up in regard to quality is positively enormous. NeverAwake nails its aesthetic in a way that few games do while tying it all together with its heavy themes in a satisfactory way.

Unique game rules and high retryability.

Each world in NeverAwake has 10 levels, 70 in total. The goal in each is simple enough: when you destroy enemies (or shoot a large pink crystal that moves through the levels with you), multicolored souls show up. You need to collect them until your soul gauge hits 100%, at which point the level will end. Instead of having levels typical of a shmup, each level loops. The longer it takes you to collect all the necessary souls, the more loops you’ll have to contend with. Levels grow in difficulty with each additional loop. There are no continues; if you bite it, you need to start the level over from scratch. But they’re mostly quite short and rarely take more than a couple of minutes. You control Rem’s movement with the left stick and shoot and aim with the right. You can also dash and make use of an equipped special or accessory. Rem’s hitbox appears to be her throat, but I’m not positive on that. I wish it was more clearly specified, as that would have been helpful to properly dodge projectiles. But I’m sure someone more observant than myself will nail it down in no time. Developed by Neotro Inc., NeverAwake has you fighting monsters inside a girl’s dreams. Or should that be nightmares? You see, there’s nothing cute and fluffy about about NeverAwake. Nothing wholesome and good.A Story About My Uncle

Instead, trapped inside perpetual sleep, you’ll be battling against horrific renditions of the things Rem hates such as vegetables, dogs and and even dentists. Being a twin-stick shooter, the controls here are simple: the left analogue stick moves Rem around the screen, and the right analogue stick aims and fires in any direction around her. Aside from that, you have a nifty dash manoeuvre that allows you to move through hazards without taking damage, and a special attack button for when you need a little bit more firepower. Pretty typical, huh? What’s unique about NeverAwake, however, is the way the stages are played and completed. It’s not just a case of reaching the end of a stage by surviving its onslaught of enemies, or indeed defeating them all. Instead, it’s all about collecting enough souls to break the dream cycle. And so if you survive long enough, you can expect to reach the end of a stage and have it loop around again until you have collected the required number of souls. In some stages you’ll earn souls by killing enemies. In others by shooting a giant crystal that you can also use as a shield. When it comes to boss battles, shooting bits off them often releases souls. You’ll also find that each loop is essentially a phase, with the boss’ attacks getting more fearsome as you progress.

Fast-paced gameplay and powerful boss battles.

And so it pays to grab as many souls as you can before they float offscreen. In fact, some stages can be completed in one loop if you’re skilled enough. Souls act as a a currency in NeverAwake, too. With them, you’re able to buy accessories and special attacks, which can then be equipped to improve your odds of survival or simply tweak your playstyle. Only a few are available at the beginning of the game, but many more become available as you progress. The basic special attack, for instance, is essentially like a bomb, dispersing a hail of bullets outwards. But you soon unlock an alternative that allows you to constantly fire bullets at high speed in the direction of your choosing for a prolonged period of time. Needless to say, your choice of special weapon can change the gameplay up considerably, but with its use limited, you’ll have to employ it strategically. Another thing we like about NeverAwake is that it’s quite welcoming to newcomers. It eases you in gently, giving you a chance to learn the basics before slowly ramping up the difficulty. If you fail a stage, you’re not taken right back to the beginning of the game, either. You can simply retry as many times as you like. Or leave the game and retry the stage at a later date. With over 80 stages to complete spread across numerous themed worlds, NeverAwake is quite a sizeable game, too.

And thanks to leaderboards, you might find yourself replaying stages to try and better your scores. There’s even a fairly interesting story to follow, complete with numerous endings to discover. Everything adds up to make NeverAwake one of the most inventive and interesting twin-stick shooters we’ve played in some time. From its meticulously-created enemies to its responsive controls, everything here has been tuned for your enjoyment. And so once you’ve started playing, chances are you’ll have a hard time pulling yourself away from it. If you’re a fan of twin-stick shooters, make sure you check this out. The trailer for NeverAwake gives you a fair idea of what to expect. It’s a twin-stick shooter where the player controls a character instead of a spacecraft. The art style seems like an equal mix of gothic and surreal, and the large bosses give off a strong bullet hell vibe. It’s appealing enough based on the two-minute trailer alone, so players won’t regret taking the plunge. NeverAwake opens with a little girl who has a hole in her chest. She also has bracelets and anklets that seem like jewelry until she exclaims that she is awake but unable to move anything under her own power. You play the role of Rem, a mysterious spirit that seeks to help the little girl by battling the things she hates in hopes of finding a way to wake her up.

Narrative isn’t something that gets much attention in shooters, so you can’t help but applaud Neotro Inc., for putting in some effort in crafting a story. The thoughts of a little girl dealing with things she hates are an interesting way of telling the story, even though it has been done before. The larger narrative paints a grim picture that makes things less fanciful, and the inclusion of entries about school and her hatred of people can be questionable in the current environment. The one thing that isn’t done so well is the fact that the unlocked journal entries rarely match up with the environment you’re exploring, and they seem to unlock randomly, making the narrative harder to follow due to their scattershot nature. As alluded to earlier, NeverAwake is a twin-stick shooter that adheres to the genre basics. The game automatically scrolls while you use one stick to move and another to shoot. The game features an option for auto-aim, but it never feels as intuitive as you aiming the shots for yourself. You have a smart bomb at your disposal to blow up every enemy around you and eradicate enemy fire, while a dash button lets you get through obstacles relatively unharmed. Those become quite useful, as there are times when the title adheres to bullet hell standards either by having bosses throw out a decent amount of firepower at once or have more enemies on-screen than expected. Souls are collected and used to buy different power-ups.Windbound
