Monster Truck Championship PS5 Free Download GAMESPACK.NET There’s an endearing earnestness to the world of monster trucks that has the capacity to turn any onlooker into a chuckling, five-year-old child. A purity of purpose, perhaps – if that’s not too weird of a phrase to apply to five-ton, 1500-horsepower, methanol-fuelled rigs that are regularly shaped like cartoon dogs and sharks. Giant, impractical, single-seaters exclusively designed to jump around, squish stuff, and… make people smile. It’s the motorsport equivalent of a kaiju movie. Monster Truck Championship does a decent job of capturing this world – or, at least, an unlicensed, off-brand facsimile of it. The graphics are pretty rough at times and it’s lean on content, but Monster Truck Championship successfully fuses the over-the-top madness of monster trucks with an accessible, simulation-style approach that makes both the driving experience and pulling off wild stunts quite satisfying. The first and most crucial piece of the puzzle in any racing game is the handling, and the good news is that it’s actually really good here. Teyon – the Polish team behind 2019’s Terminator: Resistance and 2014’s Rambo: The Video Game – has done well despite a distinct lack of racing games in its back catalogue.Clone Drone in the Danger Zone

The trucks have an excellent sense of bulk, particularly as they squat back on three wheels during drifts, or slap off the ground after landing from huge air.The independent rear-wheel steering – controlled by the right stick – also adds a whole new dimension to the driving, and it’s essential to master it. It’s not just crucial to get your immense truck to make tight turns and perform aggressive donuts, it’s equally handy as a way to reduce the angle of a sketchy drift, or hastily correct a bad landing. The fact that these vehicles are so unlike the light, low, and nimble racing cars that star in most other motorsport sims makes for a fun and interesting change of pace.  If Monster Truck Championship resembles any other contemporary racing game, it’d be Wreckfest – although not simply because destruction derbies and monster truck rallies share the same sort of spiritual link with Anytown, USA. It’s actually more superficial than that; in fact, scrolling through the menus I’d forgive you for assuming the two games shared a publisher. But they don’t and, as such, the general presentation is a little too derivative.

Monster Truck Championship features two types of racing – conventional circuit racing, and drag racing. The racing is fine but it gets a little clumsy when the trucks are too close to each other and a little boring when they’re too spread out. It’s also hampered by utterly broken timing; it’s never clear how far in front you are because the times fluctuate seemingly at random. The drag racing is probably my pick here. They’re not simple, straight-line dashes; rather, they’re tricky and technical 10-to 15-second sprints against an opponent tackling a separate albeit mirrored version of the same course. Drag racing rewards quick reaction times and skilful truck control and I found it quite addictive. The other events are destruction, which is pretty self-explanatory, and freestyle, which is classic, stunt-centric monster truck mayhem and the highlight of the game for me. This is where Monster Truck Championship becomes Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater in a truck, and the amount of different stunts and combos you can execute is surprisingly robust. Somersaults, backflips, wheelies – all kinds of wild stunts are accommodated by the physics here.Warhammer Chaosbane Enhanced Edition PS5

Just know that it’s not especially pretty – there’s a surprising amount of scenery pop-in on the race tracks and the dirt and dust effects aren’t going to knock any socks off in 2020. Truck detail is largely fine, although the entirely static flags are a dud inclusion – they look quite awful frozen rigid as your truck blazes around the arenas. There’s a decent array of truck bodies but only really a handful of pre-set monikers and themes, which is a shame considering there’s no editor to give your truck a custom name. We’ve not seen many racers based around monster trucks. THQ Nordic recently released a new Monster Jam entry, but that’s more arcade racing than realistic simulator. Launched on PlayStation 4 last October, Nacon’s Monster Truck Championship offered us that alternative, and now it’s back with a next-gen edition. Despite minimal upgrades, there’s an enjoyable time within. Career mode is where you’ll spend most of your time, offering three leagues with multiple events, and you’ve got five event types. Race is your standard 8 player event, challenging AI racers. Time Trials bring your standard fastest lap around a circuit, with 25 to choose from.

Over 50 customisable elements.

Drag Races are quick 1v1 races; Freestyle focuses on performing tricks like donuts and bicycling for points; Destruction involves tearing up obstacles around an arena. Completing these earns sponsorships and technicians, who improve performance and earnings. You begin with a basic truck, controlled through both joysticks for front and rear wheel steering. That feels loose but completing career events earns cash and points, unlocking cosmetics and vehicle parts, letting you improve top speed, steering, and more. As such, building up your vehicle is rewarding, despite initial frustrations. The game is only let down by multiplayer, providing 8-player online races with no local split screen. For PS5, Monster Truck Championship’s improvements are technical, offering a 4K resolution upgrade and 60 frames-per-second gameplay. Unfortunately, there’s no DualSense support and previous PS4 owners don’t have a free upgrade. When backwards compatibility exists, we can’t recommend double dipping, but new players will find much to enjoy. This is the definitive edition, and if you enjoy monster truck racing, then this naturally comes recommended.Ghostrunner PS5

I’ll start with what’s new…then what returns. The new part is mainly the graphics and performance upgrade, now at 4K and 60FPS, respectively. While Monster Truck Championship for the PS5 looks pretty good, it doesn’t truly showcase the console by a long shot. There’s solid flying dirt and mud graphics, but the rest of its presentation is literally pretty flat. Tracks and environments are too similar also not engaging, with cockpits, spectators and background elements mainly blah and non-interactive. Announcers, sound effects and fireworks/lights are passable. Like most PS5 titles, load times are thankfully almost non-existent. That’s a win, right? Related and while the Unreal engine has its benefits for physics purposes, it continues to have an almost ‘peel’ like feel when damage occurs. As in, truck parts appear to peel off versus break, crush and/or fall. The same can be said when crushing cars that more so disappear than lie on the wrong end of giant whirring tires. On the physics front, be warned: Monster Truck Championship claims to be a simulator…and truly is one. The slightest miscue via competing truck or environment interaction will send a truck careening in an unwanted direction or even upside down (requiring restart).

25 arenas.

Similarly, engine RPM and tire direction (especially once independent real wheel drive factored in) are very finicky, and react very specifically to different road elements (i.e. sand, mud or standard asphalt). Thus, Monster Truck Championship is not about revving it up, rather delicate presses on the pedal combined with slightest angle adjustments. Thankfully, the amazing triggers and analog sticks of the PS5 controller are up for this challenge. It’s a match made in heaven, honestly. While it has its hiccups, I truly enjoyed the hard as nails, sim feel to Monster Truck Championship. After several hours in, immersion takes over. Driving monster trucks is very different than standard racing titles…in many ways for the better. All of the game’s modes (traditional race, destruction, drag racing) reinforce these differences in how best to win them. A highlight of Monster Truck Championship is – even with the above and omnipresent finicky nature – the game’s physics never cheat either for or against you. A serious criticism, however, lies in Monster Truck Championship’s progression system.

It takes far too much grind before trucks can be leveled up with parts. This means trudging through several hours and dozens of races via the base and terribly configured monster truck, where any misstep (as they possess poor steering and acceleration) kills any chance of winning a race and getting needed parts upgrades. These upgrades are also tied to sponsor provided goals, where some of the required tasks aren’t properly recorded when executed nor aligned with the races at one’s disposal. Monster Truck Championship compensates a bit for the grind by allowing endless event restarts sans penalty, a must to ultimately win a race series and reach needed goals. But even with this allowance, there really are only three true race types and so many of the venues look and feel alike. Variety is most evident in freestyle, where opening start position literally points a truck toward executing an awesome and points producing first series of tricks. Also, select tracks feature the exciting over/under, figure 8 layout where trucks whizz right by and past each other. Another core part of Monster Truck Championship is in the hiring of teammates with varying player boosts/benefits.

The game is relatively tech-heavy, which is great. You get to (actually have to) fiddle with your truck. Improve this, tweak that, and so on, or you won’t win. And if you are not winning, that also corresponds to you not earning that cold hard cash. See, Monster Truck Championship isn’t just about driving monster trucks. The keyword here is Championship. After starting at a beginner level, the goal is to work your way up. And, like in any other form of Motorsports, speed equals money. So, with your monster truck and its delayed set of reactions and big spongy tires, and mountainous levels of power and torque, you have to go out and win. Take home the iron, then put the scratch back into the truck and back into the team. You get to hire team personnel along the way and deal with sponsors. It’s been said that Motorsports sponsorship is a shallow fetid bog swimming with vipers and rank with the lowest forms of life, and this may be true, but there’s also a downside. Luckily this game is focused more on driving and having fun with your truck than dealing with sponsors. This is where Monster Truck Championship has another technical card dealt in its favor. They don’t have to map out miles of sky, like in a flight sim, or miles and miles of track, like in a driving sim.Auto Chess PS5
