Game is good fun for the money but you wont get more than a few long runs of enjoyment out of it. It desperately needs meta progression. Unlockable classes, items, sets, etc. More monster variety as well could go a long way and even some actual bosses. Only buy if you want to enjoy a game for a day or two because in its current state it will just get repetitive fast The main gameplay loop is solid, but the lack of any meta progression goals combined with every run being an ‘endless’ run wears on it after a while. It’s fun and addictive and I think it’s worth the price, but it doesn’t have staying power once you have a good understanding of the mechanics. My latest run is at floor 100 and I’ve built tools to deal with all of the gimmicks the enemies have, so I went to look up when the run ends and…it doesn’t. The scaling functions are also quite wonky for that super late late game, effectively disabling the shop, so the game devolves to just pressing attack, with occasionally some careful targeting to shut down the few gimmicks that could actually kill the build. Optional endless modes can be fun for those who enjoy such things, but at least personally I wish the runs could just be more self-contained. Call of Sentinels Free Download
