As awesome and funny as the story is, it just isn’t as fun when there is zero decision or dialogue making. The art is beautiful and the characters can be both hilarious and adorable. However, the fact that you don’t get to make decisions or get to choose a unique response to the characters you run into that will either reward you or give you “bad karma” later on makes it no fun. The game is basically like reading a manga. Other than that, the story isn’t bad at all. It’s just not for me. And no, the 18+ does not mean that the entire sex scenes are uncensored. It still has a mosaic over the naughty areas aside from nipples. You come into a game like this (pun intended) with the basest of expectations but beyond the actual hentai scenes this visual novel actually has quite the emotional weight to it. I wasn’t prepared to find it so humorous, so engaging, and so enjoyable. The emotional side to the characters shines through in every scene and you can really tell the writers went through a lot of work to make the dynamic between the main character and the girls meld perfectly. I’m genuinely impressed by the level of sophistication this so-called crude story provided.

As it turns out those events aren’t by pure luck. A (talking) cat which has been visiting you for a long time and who you told your wishes to, turned out to be a shrine maiden to the gods and she relayed your wishes to them. And now your faith lies in your own hands. And to get things really going the gods decide to casually destroy your home with a busted water pipe, forcing you to sleep and live at your new workplace in some big apartment on the 28th floor. And to top it all off those gods practically did the same to all the homes of the other girls, forcing everyone to sleep and live in the same work apartment. The story starts off great in my opinion but it sure lets you down in the long run. You could really have done a cool story as a struggling artist trying to stay in the business. But of course, this being a solely lewd novel it doesn’t branch out as much as I’d like it to. The writing is short between the scenes you actually buy the game for, with only the beginning having a good 9 chapters without anything too major happening considering scenes. But those were the chapters where the story really unfolded great and I wish this kind of length would be there between the scenes as well.

If you’re looking for a hentai game, or even a dating sim for that matter, I’m afraid you’re in for a big tease. The art style itself is quite appealing, the music is lovely, and the voice acting is not bad for the most part. However, if you were hoping to have a more interactive experience with choices that affect the plot, I’m sorry to say that you’ll be disappointed. This game really shouldn’t be classified as a game, but more as a dubbed digital visual novel with a couple of very brief interactive features and bounce physics. I’d compare the plot of this game to a stereotypical harem comedy Manga, or a mediocre Porno without the nudity (partial nudity at best). The player is railroaded through the story with little to no interaction save for the text bar speed menu and a “grope” button that activates a few random brief animated reactions (i assume to keep the player from getting too bored while they read through hundreds of lines of text that…eventually lead to few moments of scantily clothes and some implied sex). Granted, there are a few cute (all be it unrealistic) scenes here and there.

A couple brief moments of surprisingly touching romantic dialog, but not enough to keep the viewer engaged for very long. As a ” dating game,” I’d rate this as a 4.5 out of 10. As an animated Harem Manga, I’d rate this at about 6 out of 10, not great, but not bad. If you never saw any of Neko works games. This is a good chance to see what’s so good about them. Through years they collected numerous fans not without a reason. H-Scenes have incredible quality with a lot of effects and they are written in a very romantic and cute way, that makes people smile. Characters are different from each other when it comes to reactions and expressions, although all of them are lovely. It’s just another brilliant romance. I would expect though something new for that double price you need to pay to enjoy full game with mosaics (DLC is same price as game). Still I recommend Love Cube you can’t go wrong with it if you are looking for long erotic harem VN. It’s like Nekopara but with Nekos being replaced by h-manga artist waifus.

To be honest, I’m annoyed by all the smut VNs you find on here. Not that I don’t have a few of them myself, but after awhile, they get boring. This VN? I love how it’s an all age version. That was definitely a seller for me. I admit I had doubts since it was a clicker, no alternate routes. But the ending? I shed a few manly tears at the ending. Such a beautiful way to end it I recommend it often to people who read VNs. It definitely ranks up in my top 5. Crystalline, If My Heart Had Wings, Ace Academy, and A Sky Full Of Stars is also in my top 5. I’ve read all of them, including this one, many times. I’m currently reading it for the 4th time and it’s still as good as the first time An extra shoutout to the developers because they gave a good name to black cats. I live on a farm where black cats are more common than tabbies, so it’s nice to see black cats have a good rep rather than the usual “bad luck” rap they’ve had for centuries due to mindless superstitions The music is also pretty good. I bought the soundtrack to get the full opening song. I can honestly say I love Japanese rock and pop music, and the majority of the songs I like comes from VNs.
