OctaFight Switch NSP Free Download GAMESPACK.NET OctaFight is a multiplayer action game where 2-8 players can face off in an arena and throw bombs at each other until one is the victor. It has a very minimalist style going for it with its over-pixelated art style and simple controls but manages to still bring the fun by way of customizing the match settings. OctaFight is a callback to couch multiplayer. In these social distancing times, that can be great if you have the people to truly make the game shine. OctaFight is an indie game made by Pixel Almost Perfect. The art style they developed for the game is very unique. I thoroughly more than anything enjoyed the different stages. Personally the stages with flowing water I liked most because of how the water while pixelated interacted with other scenery and even the players. Stages were not the most important bit but for me, that is the part of the game that stood out the most. OctaFight has a player capacity of 2-8 players but I was not able to get that many people together with it being local multiplayer only. The matches I did have with a buddy was fun for a good amount of time.TOP/BEST ADULT VIDEO GAMES IN UNITED STATES OF AMERICA (USA)

Being able to change the match settings provided some variety to keep the fun going for a little bit. Zero gravity mode, giant bombs, bouncy bombs were my favorite settings to play with. With more players, it might be better to set the number of points to win up to ten but for two people three points were enough. OctaFight is definitely more of a party game. I can see it being super fun with 8 players, drinks, and food around. If Octafight had online multiplayer that would be even better with these current times. Now that is to say it shouldn’t have local multiplayer. It should have both. It is very minimalist as it only has vs. but only vs against another player. If one could add AI opponents, oh the fun that would be. I can’t stress enough that if a game is to offer only local multiplayer and there is only VS. for those players it needs more. By more I mean more modes, more bomb variants, and more stages. I would even add power-ups maybe. Battle victories reward you with coins, which you can eventually trade in for bigger bombs or, my personal favourite, the bouncing bomb. Be careful with these, though, as if you time your throw incorrectly they can backfire!

Simple controls and deep gameplay.

The best game mode in OctaFight has to be one in zero gravity, which is totally bonkers. In addition to bombs flying everywhere, jumps will send you flying to the ceiling. It can turn into utter chaos, but it’s great fun. Gameplay overall is tight and has responsive controls, even if I still find the Joy-Con too dinky. With the Joy-Con side-on the A button throws your bombs, B is jump (which you can hit twice to double/wall jump) and Y surrounds with you a temporary protective shield. From the bombs to the characters themselves, everything in OctaFight is a tiny square pixel, and it works really well with an endearing quality. Everything moves smoothly and the backgrounds are gorgeous. One stage has waterfalls flowing in the background, while others have animals moving around; all catch the eye nicely. The only issue with the graphics is that when there is a particularly frenzied match taking place, it can be difficult to see which character is yours, leading to some annoying defeats. If you like your party game music to be energetic and enthusiastic, then you’ll love the tunes on offer here. Electronic beats fit the action perfectly, and the developers have done a cracking job with these block-rocking beats!Strife Veteran Edition Switch NSP

Battles in the game are great for short bursts of play with a couple of people, although ideally, you want to be playing this with four or more friends, which in the middle of a pandemic is potentially tricky. That is not the fault of the game, but it is still relevant right now as you only have the option to play local multiplayer. I managed to play with three people for this review and enjoyed all of the battles – some lasted for thirty seconds, while others reached around five minutes. With more players, I can see battles lasting up to a good ten minutes. Two things are glaringly missing from OctaFight. The first is the option for a solo mode against A.I., which with incremental difficulty settings could have easily been added as a single-player component. The second is the lack of online multiplayer, which has absolutely baffled me. I love couch co-op games and OctaFight nails that feel, but an online mode would have been the icing on the cake, making the title more accessible during these unprecedented times. Overall, I’m frustrated with OctaFight. While I enjoyed my time with the game, its silliness, its looks and sounds, and found the battles an enormous amount of fun, not having online multiplayer or a solo mode feels like a missed opportunity.

From 2 to 8 players in a same couch or online.

If you have the people around to play this game, I highly recommend you pick it up, as for less than a fiver you’ll have a great time. If you’re without friends or socially distancing from your gaming community, on the other hand, you might have to give this one a miss for the time being. There’s only one mode in OctaFight: versus. When clicking on that, you need to input how many players there are so the Joy-Con can connect. You can’t play alone, and there’s no online multiplayer, so you’ll need to invite your friends over for a few hours. Then you customize the battle rules. The rules you can choose from are how many points you want to aim for until someone is declared the winner: 1, 3, 5, 7, or 10. You can also choose what map you want to play on and the mode, such as classic, night (which just darkens the map), zero gravity, and a few other options. Finally, you decide the type of bombs you want, from giant to bouncy or normal, among other styles. These bombs are your only weapon aside from being able to jump and shield. Yep, that’s all these pixel guys can do. Then you fight. Once someone wins three rounds or however many you chose, you can either rematch with the same rules or go back and switch up the rules. The battles themselves were monotonous.Darkestville Castle Switch NSP

Since you only have one weapon and it shows you the hitbox with how far the detonation will go, it’s easy to dodge and stay out of your opponents’ way. Each battle will earn you coins. You can go to the shop and spend those coins to unlock more modes, maps, and bombs. For example, the only bombs you can use at first are classic and bouncy. After spending 25 coins, you can unlock the giant bombs. When you want to unlock the next type of bomb, the price went up to 50 coins and so on. The battles will earn you about 12 coins, so you’ll need to play quite a few rounds if you want to unlock everything. And that’s about it. That’s all you can do in OctaFight. It was a solid game with smooth controls, a fun pixelated art style, and energetic fighting music. In terms of gameplay, though, it fell a bit flat for me. Of course, I could only try out the game with my sister and didn’t get a chance to get a bigger group together. (We can thank COVID for that!) I think this game would be much better in a larger group, making the screen more chaotic and fun. One selling point of this game was that you could customize the battles with your own rules, but I felt the rules were limited, and that’s all you can do in the game anyway. I wish there were more options to choose from with a little more variety in the battle styles.

Create your own fighting rules.

Or, at the very least, let each player choose their own bomb type instead of having one kind for everyone. Overall, OctaFight wasn’t a bad game. I can see myself going back to this game when I can get together with my friends again. In the meantime, though, I don’t think I’ll revisit this one. OctaFight is an explosive combat game. A tribute to good old couch multiplayer titles, offering intense and devastating versus matches. Move, jump, shield, throw and trigger your bomb on time to be the last in one piece! Up to 8 players dive into the brawl, individually or team play. Choose between a large choice of unique characters and share epic moments on social network! Create your own fighting rules, from fairly competitive to deliciously chaotic, compose with various bomb types, crazy game modes and momentous arenas (Castle, Towerfall, and many others). With its amazing overpixelated Art, OctaFight declare its love to minimalism and refined design, and explore the promises of the ultra-low definition!

In many ways, gamers have have high expectations for the titles they choose to play. Where once a quarter for a few minutes on an arcade machine was acceptable, many titles are now commonly expected to deliver 100 hours of entertainment — or more — for $59.99, and some players even expect the same for free, albeit with paid cosmetics or the equivalent. With that in mind, what should someone expect with a title that’s five bucks from a fledgling studio? As it turns out, they can expect a fast-paced 2D platform party fighter. While not looking to overthrow Super Smash Bros., Octafight plays to its strengths by keeping things simple, and this design ethic is most exemplified by the ‘characters’ which are all differently-colored blocks of pixels, equal in size and ability. These abilities include a double jump, wall jumping, a shield (which requires quick reflexes), and a bomb (which is also a block of pixels). Local matches are quick and easy to set up, and rounds can last anywhere from a single second up to several minutes, depending on skill and amount of confidence to engage in the frenzy. Completing matches allows the player to unlock different game modes, stages, and types of bombs.

These options help keep things fresh, and the bombs add variety to the gameplay with properties ranging from splitting into multiple smaller bombs, heat-seeking capabilities and more. The game is obviously designed with a pixel-heavy aesthetic, and this can be a mixed bag. While the menu text can be difficult to read, once a player is in a match, the stages impress with wildlife, lighting, and water effects that convey a particular attention to detail behind the rudimentary exterior. The name “Octafight” comes from its other gimmick, which is allowing up to eight people to play at the same time. Unfortunately, due to the current pandemic I was unable to get eight people together to test this out, although I was able to confirm it is possible to connect eight controllers at once. This brings up Octafight’s biggest weakness – it’s multiplayer-only, with no bots and no online play, and this is something that should very much be kept in mind before purchasing. Those who aren’t living with another gamer or two in the house will find their ability to play extremely limited unless they don’t mind ‘pulling a Sakurai’ and playing against themselves with two controllers at once.Motherless
