New Tales from the Borderlands Switch NSP Free Download GAMESPACK.NET If you enjoy well-written humor in your games, the last couple of years have been generous. Psychonauts 2, Guardians of the Galaxy, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands and now, New Tales of the Borderlands are not just funny, they snap and crackle with great acting and perfect comedic timing. Gearbox is on a roll. Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands was a delight, and New Tales from the Borderlands might be even better. The original Tales from the Borderlands — a spinoff of the popular post-apocalyptic action series — appeared around 2015. It was developed by Telltale, and a few veterans of the first game joined Gearbox as advisors on the sequel. While the new game has an entirely fresh cast of main characters, a few supporting players make return appearances in New Tales, including Rhys Strongfork, CEO of of evil megacorp Atlas. Still, many players will be coming to New Tales from the Borderlands without having played the first game. They’re at no disadvantage. The new game stars a trio — really, a quartet — of would-heroes. Anu is a pacifist weapons designer for Atlas; Octavio, Anu’s adopted brother and an inept and slightly shady entrepreneur; and Fran, a mobility-assisted operator of a frozen yogurt stand, and Octavio’s employer. The fourth member of the center squad is LOU13, a British-accented assassin-bot. The narrative is set in motion when competing weapons manufacturer Tediore invades Altas’ orbiting headquarters. Anu escapes to the local planet, Promethia, to search for Octavio. Tediore attacks Promethia, searching for a legendary Vault, which may or may not contain alien weapons technology. Our heroes set out to stop them. New Tales from the Borderlands presupposes the player has a bit of familiarity with Borderlands’ lore. But even players with no experience in the Borderlines will do just fine. The game explains the critical bits of backstory. Veteran Borderlands fans will just have that much more fun. The narrative is told in five episodes, but unlike the original, the release includes all of them. No waiting for the next chapter to drop! What to Do

THE UNDERDOG STORY OF THREE LOVABLE NOBODIES

The Borderlands franchise has always straddled the line between humor and action. The mainline games, though action-focused, contain generous amounts of parody and cultural satire. Telltale’s Tales from the Borderlands and more recently, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, leaned more heavily on the jokes. The original Tales was an adventure game with branching dialogue choices and quick-time events. Mechanically, New Tales from the Borderlines is nearly identical to the first game. Though the big-picture story arc is set, there are lots of smaller choices that impact the experience. Usually, these choices come down to dialogue options on a timer. Most of the time, the choices are clear in their emotional or moral implications. Although the return of this company was announced about two years ago, the second part was never confirmed, so Gearbox Studio in its Quebec division took the initiative to make their own game. And with that we had the official reveal of New Tales From The Borderlands, the spiritual successor to the much-loved spinoff. IMMORTALITY

We are already in the year 2022 and finally the game is basically a day away from being released, and yes, fortunately I have had the opportunity to put quite a few hours into it to bring you the following analytical text. In which we are going to review each aspect of the video game to reach the conclusion of whether or not it is worth spending money to play it. Could it be that the work of Telltale Games will always be second to none? Has Gearbox Studios Quebec managed to bring something much better? Well, we are going to find that out in the following Atomix Review that I have prepared with pleasure for you. So, grab your laser gun, spaceship and worst hilarious jokes, to dive into the flashy futuristic world with Cel Shading graphic style. The plot of New Tales From The Borderlands places us a year after the third official game of the franchise, with a narrative that can be interpreted as independent of the events that are already known. This also goes for the previous game in the Tales line, as there is no apparent connection to the latter. Here we are placed on the planet of Promethea

AN EXTRAORDINARY CINEMATIC ADVENTURE

Which is being invaded by the weapons corporation known as Tediore, since they want to impose their rules on every existing inhabitant. This has led city dwellers to try to survive in different ways, that includes stealing, trafficking, even murder for hire of mafia bigwigs. The point of view that we will take is that of three protagonists. The first is Anu, a dedicated scientist who is working for Tediore’s rivals, Atlas, who in turn fire her soon after. That is because the girl does not want to create weapons, but rather the opposite, devices that bring peace to the galaxy without the need for death. The second character is Octavio, a boy who lives in the suburbs of Promethea and struggles every day to eat, since his family abandoned him a few years ago to seek a better life. So, he has no choice but to work in a Frozen Yogurt shop, and at the same time, he is a partner of a robot who gets paid to kill certain people. He doesn’t really like this latest job, but he doesn’t have many choices. Imprisoned Queen

Lastly, we have Fran, the owner of the frozen yogurt shop where Octavio works, a business that at the moment is at its worst, since a laser sent by monopolistic corporations fell precisely on the spot. This will lead her to commit the most heinous acts in order to leave her family heritage just as she was, so she will try to have a personal revenge against the companies. With all this background, at some point our protagonists cross paths and corresponding aspirations, so they will join forces in their fight against Tediore. Since the company hides secrets beyond the creation of weapons, they apparently have the key to a treasure that can change anyone’s life. Out of the more notable improvements, New Tales from the Borderlands boasts a clearly better development toolset behind the curtain. The frame-rate hitching and input delay that so often plagued the Telltale games is nowhere to be seen here, outside of the occasional barely noticeable hiccup that falls well within acceptable parameters. I also get the sense that New Tales seems to feature more precise mo-cop for its actors

YOUR CHOICES SHAPE THE OUTCOME

Which is a great step up from the last game in the spin-off series, and really illustrates the subtle ticks, nods, and other small gestures that are so crucial to the humor of Borderlands and elevate the new characters’ personalities to great heights. The same can’t quite be said for the story itself though, as it can feel like it’s shuffling around the same handful of ideas without actually building much with them for long stretches of time. Other times, it is exceptionally entertaining with its fresh cast – Fran and LOU13 being the clear stand-outs to me. No one character falls below good though, so the strong cast ends up being perhaps the story’s greatest strength. While it’s not always as consistently interesting as the story in other Borderlands games tends to be, it does shed more light on its characters than the last game by showing them in a larger variety of situations and giving them more opportunities to make drastically different decisions. From the outrageously silly to the dramatic and serious

New Tales from the Borderlands really takes you on quite the narrative roller coaster with the clear emphasis on exploring its charming characters and putting them in challenging situations that force them to grow and show depth. Some choices are so drastically different from one another that it can be distracting as my brain was always trying to make sense out of what the canonical path really is, but I suppose that’s more of a ponderance for the choice-based narrative adventure genre at large than this specific game. In any case, while the story does have some dips in entertainment value, it mostly does a good job of managing the ebb and flow of climaxes and build-ups without spending too much time in any one segment. Gameplay is largely similar to the previous Tales from the Borderlands game with timed button prompts and choice making segments being the vast majority of it. There are of course moments where you can explore around a given space, investigate, and stumble into some funny optional interactions

But these segments are tightly confined and usually accompanied by something on the screen telling you exactly what to do when you’re ready to advance. If these segments could have been a little more open-ended and consequential as games like Detroit: Become Human and Syberia 3 have demonstrated as a superior approach, then that might have made New Tales from the Borderlands feel a little more like a major advancement from the previous game as opposed to the conservative upgrade it ended up as. Given that the last game is nearly a decade old now, it would have been nice to see some larger spaces to explore and a more advanced web of outcomes that my exploration (or lack thereof) could’ve interfaced with. In the case of this particular series, there is certainly nothing wrong with more of the same, but with how New Tales plays things so safely as the narrative adventure genre has grown so much in recent years, the gameplay here can feel a little old hat and unambitious a lot of the time.
