I’ve been anticipating this game for some time because I’d hoped it would provide an interesting management sim experience with a much wider range of customization than what is typically offered with this type of game. What I found instead was a game that drowns you in tedious mediocrity, asking you to spend unimaginable amounts of time placing not just every individual foundation tile, every parking space, every section of wall and stair, every fence rail, but also labeling the (permanently one-way) direction of each individual foundation tile, the placement of each individual toilet AND the privacy walls (with no doors!) AND the individual pipe sections to run from the city water all the way to each individual toilet. There are no blueprints, no cloning patterns, no way to just slap down a generic “bathroom” unit and move on with your life. The customization here is not optional, it’s forced upon you at every step, whether you like it or not. Sodaman

On top of all this, you’re forced to endure this tediousness either from the first person view of your robot body (which is definitely a choice) OR from the somehow even more awkward view of the flying drone. Being in first-person mode offers absolutely no improvement to this game, and the abysmal controls make the already incredibly tedious and boring gameplay fiddly and awkward, while the robot’s body often gets in the way of your construction (even while in drone mode). This game would have benefited from a much more straightforward top-down or isometric view as is typical of most management games.

The eye-opening moment which caused me to refund came as I had just burned nearly an hour building a bathroom for mission 2, and took a moment to examine my work as I began to realize my hands hurt, and realized I had built only 9 of the required 20 toilets for the TUTORIAL mission. It would have been 10, but I was unable to use one of the apportioned sections because it fell on the edge of a foundation tile, making the whole process so much more frustrating.
