This digital implementation is clean, simple, stable, and easy to learn. The UI is fairly intuitive, the graphic design is attractive and fits the theme, and the digitization of the original game artwork is lovely. It is a terrific option for when I don’t have anyone available to table the physical game, and delivers a comparable, if less tactile, gameplay experience.

I was looking for another Steam board game adaptation with a daily challenge. Others I enjoy are Railroad Ink and Sagrada. Cascadia did not disappoint, with two varying levels at intermediate and Advanced (the Beginner scenario does not change). My favourite Steam adaptation so far is Railroad Ink, as the daily challenges have varying boards and rules which cannot be found in the physical base and expansions of the game. In comparison, Cascadia’s daily challenge plays more like the physical board game. Like Sagrada’s Steam adaptation, Cascadia also has some campaigns. Cascadia is so relaxing! It’s a relatively simple game, with a little luck and a lot of strategy. I always feel like I’m solving a puzzle putting my biomes together, and I’m constantly shifting my strategy based on which animals present themselves. I really love the soundtrack and could listen to it for hours. Definitely one of my favorite games!
