Outward Free Download GAMESPACK.NET The mid/late game once you start to figure it out quickly turns sour. Most dungeons are going to be largely devoid of upgrades or good gear. The overworld is largely empty. Neat to look at but there’s nothing to really do other than run through it. Eventually you realize there’s no real reason to kill most things since there’s no XP, you have more money than you know what to do with and you no longer need the things they drop. 90% of what you do is run back and forth between places. The best armor in the game is the set that increases your run speed. While the various abilities are fun you have to train them from trainers. Which means farming some money to even get your build going and then having to find the trainers. Which typically means googling where they are which kills a lot of the early game immersion. The early game in Outward is pretty phenomenal. As you struggle to survive, struggle to figure out how to kill things, struggle to figure out…everything. Finding new ways to survive and adventure is a treat. Everybody feels clever the first time they figure out that you can…well, that thing we all tend to do at the exit to every city. We’re a blank slate type character to start with so you get to run around and pick what abilities you want. My first character leaned heavily into trapping. Crafting a bunch of traps out of spare bits, laying them down then kiting my enemies into them and watching them all tumble was quite rewarding. I also tried a gun-mage that fired enchanted bullets that sucked the life out of my enemies. A hex mage that would debuff enemies then explode them. And so on. Dying is an ‘event’ in the game. Something neat (not always bad) will happen when you run out of HP. Maybe you get captured by bandits and have to find your gear and escape their camp. Maybe someone finds you and carries you back to town. Maybe someone gets you drunk. It’s almost worth intentionally ‘dying’ a few times in every area just to see what happens. The multi-player is bang on. Life in Outward is brutal so having someone to watch your back is quite handy. It even has split screen co-op which is practically unheard of these days in an RPG. I lost count of the number of times I’d be shouting to my friend, “Just keep rolling! I’m almost done putting down all my traps!” You get a sense that the game was pretty obviously designed for co-op. Project Third Eye
