FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY’S HELP WANTED Free Download GAMESPACK.NET This franchise dominated the horror genre in 2014 with its thematic use of childhood amusement and attractions to frighten players. You play a security guard hired on to survive a night of haunting scares where animatronic creatures lurk around the corner and play creepy circus music the closer they get to you. Help Wanted’s opening introduces you to FNAF. A robotic voice claims this collection consists of recreations of the fabrications the media spread about their company. Fazbear’s Pizza (the Chuck E. Cheese parody in this universe) is saving face by poking fun at the horrors that the media claimed dwelled within its facilities at night. According to Fazbear’s Pizza, why not poke fun at the bad press and see if you can survive? I really enjoyed this opening. Instead of dumping you into a menu with various game modes, this introduction gave the collection a chapter in the FNAF story itself. Canonically, Fazbear’s Pizza is now marketing off of their bad publicity with this game. This also seems to indicate that the games before it were the actual events played out, while this new title is their PR response. Help Wanted consists of many of the mini games and scenarios from the series thus far with a few new ones, as well.TOP/BEST ADULT VIDEO GAMES IN UNITED STATES OF AMERICA (USA)

Every game mode is exactly as you expect for a night’s stay at Fazbear’s Pizza. However, the gameplay on the Switch just didn’t work for me. It’s a shame this game is so hard to handle. The original version of Help Wanted was released over a year ago for other devices, and it was a highly rated addition to the series. This makes me wonder if the game didn’t receive the full playtesting it should have. For players new to the FNAF franchise, this collection has the potential to be an interesting taste test for if you’ll like this horror series. But I would caution against trying it on the Switch, as it was just unplayable in my case. Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted had a promising opening, and I was excited to play through the collection. But until the controls get a serious recalibration, I can’t recommend this for the Switch. If you’re still curious, a portion of the FNAF series is available on Nintendo Switch. Perhaps that’s the best way to experience this series if you’re primarily a Nintendo Switch player. The key word in there is “play.” Because I get why these games are scary: they do a great job of establishing a really tense atmosphere, and then throwing a jump scare at you.

I know that jump scares are a cheap way to frighten people, but honestly, I’m not going to begrudge any game that makes use of them. Besides, the fact that these games do such a great job of ratcheting up the tension in the first place counts for something. These games make great use of the darkness, as you sit all by yourself, wondering what’s hiding in the shadows. The thing is, none of these games are very fun to play. They may have worked when you played them with a VR headset — that, after all, is what they were designed for — but on the Switch, the experience is atrocious. The gist of these games is that you’re looking around, watching for animatronic monsters to show up and occasionally pressing buttons to carry out some action, whether it’s slamming a door or putting on a mask. Unfortunately, the controls here are absurdly sensitive; even making your reaction as slow as possible, it was nearly impossible to look at any specific item, since you’d just go flying around the screen. It’s hard to feel frightened when you’re also feeling incredibly frustrated at finicky controls, which means that the gameplay in Five Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted might be exactly what fans of the series are looking for in terms of a one-stop-shop for a majority of the released titles in the series, as well as the bonus content that joins this symposium of scares. However, some issues with the VR conversion mean this Switch collection leaves a lot to be desired. The Five Nights at Freddy’s series has been a phenomenon of the horror genre since the first title’s original release in 2014. The series has made its way over from the PC and mobile space recently allowing for console players to get in on the action. These point-and-click horror titles are filled with deep lore, simple management gameplay, and the creepiest cast of mechanical antagonists this side of Chuck E. Cheese. Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted was initially released as the series’ first VR endeavor, coming to PC VR units, as well as the PlayStation VR. This subsequent port onto the Nintendo Switch takes away the interactive virtual reality mechanics to offer a more streamlined experience. With each of the first three titles on offer here, as well as some mini-game content that takes you to locations from the fifth mainline title —Sister Location— and several additional bonus modes, you will have a lot to play through with the Help Wanted collection. A chilling, children’s pizza chain featuring animatronic performers has been brightening the hearts of children for years until one fateful day a child is killed in the restaurant.

YOU’RE HIRED.

This occurrence is only the start of a much darker story hidden beneath the lighthearted setting. The simplicity of the gameplay, though challenging and entertaining, has been completely overshadowed by the breadth of story that can be discovered for those willing to search it out. Although not inherently scary for those who don’t have automatonophobia, the jump scares will best even the toughest of wills. Creepiness is more of the Five Night at Freddy’s recipe, where the hidden messages and tie-ins from each title have created a timeline of murder and mayhem that has spawned books and potential future films as well. The protagonist has found themselves situated inside the restaurant (or other scary locales), where it is your job to keep track of the animatronics and last as long as possible with whatever tools you have at your disposal. Watching the cameras, hallways, and power consumption to survive each night of the titular five nights has been the modus operandi of each of the mainline entries in this series.Watch dogs 2

Each of these titles offers slightly different gameplay mechanics; from hiding behind masks, using music boxes to trigger reactions in the animatronics, closing doors, and more, but at the end of the day, each is simply about survival and time management. The pure simplicity on offer can get dull for those spending long playtimes in any of the titles here, but having a giant bear or chicken jump out at you will instantly pull you out of those funks. The gameplay loop from iteration to iteration doesn’t offer enough of a difference to distinguish them from each other, so taking your time with each entry will help stave off repetitiveness. The difficulty ramps up each subsequent night and you will have to act quickly, while taking more chances, in order to preserve yourself and hold off the enemies waiting at the gates long enough to hear that beautiful chime concluding every stage. The gameplay isn’t for everyone as it is, but considering the downsides to this non-VR version, specifically, might be enough to keep you away from the series altogether.

TWO WAYS TO PLAY.

t’s often entirely possible for games designed to be played in virtual reality to be played outside of the VR headset. Trover Saves the Universe, for example, is quite plainly designed for VR, but is both playable and enjoyable without it – likewise The Persistence. But having said that, it is usually a matter of compromise. There’s a reason that you usually see non-VR games with optional VR modes or editions (think Skyrim VR) rather than, well, the opposite. Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted is clearly designed around VR, and in our view must be an extremely enjoyable, frightening game when you’re in that world. Unfortunately, on Switch, you’re not – and it doesn’t work. The most major question that kept popping into our heads during our time with Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted was, quite simply, “Why?” The extant Five Nights at Freddy’s games (well, the first four) are already on the Switch, with fairly decent ports. The majority of the content in this non-VR take on the VR game is drawn from those games.  The visuals are slightly nicer, but everything else is inferior. Was there any compelling reason to release this in a non-VR format, beyond the obvious answer, which is to make some money?

The premise here is mildly clever; you’re thrust into in-universe corporation Fazbear Entertainment’s “Freddy Fazbear Virtual Experience”, intended to fictionalise the events of the series so far in video game form to rehabilitate the Fazbear brand. Naturally, things almost instantly go awry, with a heavy dose of hidden lore to discover for long-time fans. It’s not a bad idea, but of course it loses something when you get rid of the virtual reality element (you may begin to notice a pattern of criticism here). Essentially, Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted is a mini-game collection featuring content from the beloved mainline Five Nights at Freddy’s series – from the 2014 original through to one of its more recent instalments, the as-yet-unported Five Nights at Freddy’s: Sister Location.  Much of the package comprises recreations of the first four games, with their familiar doors-closed, lights-on gameplay. Learn the rather esoteric rules, evade the homicidal mascots. You know, the same that’s already available on the Switch for £6.29 a pop. Is that too cynical? You’ll have to forgive us, because it all just seems so pointless.

That’d be the compromise we mentioned; introduced by tying your VR head movements to the left stick. What must have been intuitive and immersive in virtual reality is now clumsy and awkward. There are items lying around that you can pick up and throw, as per most VR games – doing so in their intended format would be a simple matter of extending your in-game “arm” and grabbing them. Now, you have to fight the imprecision of the sticks and tap B at just the right time. It’s not just a matter of moving the cursor over the object; your virtual “head” is your only guide, and it’s very twitchy indeed. The original games had a preset range of motion that made your limited interactions a breeze to perform. Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted doesn’t. It just isn’t as good. Does it work? Sure, it works. You look left and hit the indicated button to close the door or switch the lights on or whichever command goes with whichever Five Nights at Freddy’s minigame you’re playing. Yes, it functions. But it’s utterly compromised, and that feeling never goes away.Poppy playtime chapter 2
