From that point out, you play through one of four storylines which are unique to each of the protagonists. Most of the interaction within the game centres around Keitaro as he speaks, plays around, argues and gets to know four of the other campers.

Player Have Good Story Line To Play.

They range in terms of personality from the boisterous and loud Youchi to the quiet and introverted Hunter, with the straight-laced Natsumi and ever-loyal Hiro rounding out the cast. Each of these characters brings a new dynamic to the group of characters and it is not long before their interactions start to establish unique quirks in how each character relates to one another – entire scenes will play out in which the energetic Hiro and the competitive Youchi will get into playful scuffles, while the ever-mature Natsumi lectures them both. The most important aspect of the game from the player’s perspective is the chance to discover more about each of the characters – this can only truly be done by playing through the game multiple times to achieve each route. In one route, you may uncover the secret of Hunter’s overbearing parents, while in another you might discover Youchi’s heartbreaking past. You can’t do both in one playthrough, however, so choose carefully! As well as that, Camp Buddy does have a main storyline which covers the entire narrative – the summer camp itself is under threat of closure and it’s only by concerted teamwork and effort that the campers are able to make sure that it will survive for the future.Digimon Survive

In addition, Keitaro is quickly targeted for harassment and bullying by another camper, Taiga – as you play through you are able to discover the root of his hatred for Keitaro and hopefully resolve the situation. They all have their pros and cons (they’re will written and more than stereotypes) and I like 3 of the 4 equally. Though, if I had to pick, my favorite guy would be Yoichi. He comes off as a rude bad boy, but he secretly has a heart of gold. In anime terms, he would be tsudere, and we all know how that is my type (I love you Sailor Mars). His back story really resonances with me and I can relate cause some of it is similar to mine. But again, as I said, no spoilers. NO SPOILERS! This game was made by a small team and crowdfunded through Patreon. The music of the game is pretty good overall. You can listen to it and it doesn’t get annoying or repetitive. When it comes to noises, there are a few sounds that quirky, louder than the background music, and last longer than they should. Here’s looking at your alarm clock! The voice acting is pretty good in my opinion. To me at least, the voices fit the characters pretty well and are pleasant to the ears. On the down side, the range of emotions some of the voice actors convey isn’t that wide. It is mostly the main characters that have the more emotional scenes so this is something that can be over looked. The Story Does Not Jump From Place To Place, Either. You Must Say That These Twinks Are Lovable. Our Main Cast Of Twinks Anyway In This Game. You Have Great Game Play In This Game. Also Play Mini Games In This Game. Each Role Had A Unique Voice Actor And Was Never Grating To Listen To. It Was Such An Good Thing To Witness With My Own Ears. The Art Style Is Anime Bara Shonen. So You Know You Will Be In For Some Young Boys Falling In Love. Game Sounds Along With Music Were Good. It Was A Short Romance Game With Some Nice Story Elements In It. This Visual Novel Is Also Mostly Kinetic. The Level Design Of This Game Was Good. Game Play Of This Game Is As Good As Summertime Saga Game. Anyhow, the characters look too young to me and therefore this isn’t my cup of tea. Let’s just leave it at that.Other than that I gotta say it doesn’t even leave half a bad impression from the short time I spend playing it. The plot doesn’t seem overly intriguing or complex – it’s just about two boys visiting a scout camp over summer, essentially – but who knows, maybe there’s a surprise or two around the corner.

As for the first day you spend at the titular ‘Camp Buddy’ you’ll get introduced to the main character and the potential love interests. Sadly all of the characters feel a bit like they were done with ‘cookie cutters’ – i.e. you have your typical harmless and naive protagonist, his cheerful best friend, the responsible ‘older brother’ type, the rogue who rebels against rules and the quiet shy guy everyone finds adorable. The cast pretty much consists of clichés.and some of the things that happen in the game are quite… strange. Well, the over-the-top stuff is probably intented, but I guess I’m getting too old to be laughing at ‘spilled milk’ jokes and other (sexual) innuendos – especially when they feel like a sledgehammer. But I gotta say one thing: The voice acting is pretty spot-on in my opinion and the voices fit the characters quite well. I was positively surprised by that. The quality of the character sprites and backgrounds is also really good. There’s been a lot of work put into those. Overall, it seems to be a pretty lighthearted (occasionally childish) BL game – nothing deep, but therefore also nothing too serious or violent. So if you like to take it easy, this might be your choice over some of the darker Japanese BL games.

If the game wouldn’t be explicit, but more like a story about friendship or even a blossoming (innocent) love between two boys, I probably would’ve looked into it further. As it stands it’s just not for me and I’ll be looking elsewhere. If you’re not put off by the (apparent) young age of the characters and want to know if you’d enjoy the game, you can also still check out the demo version.At the time of writing, Camp Buddy has been available for six months. Several patches have been released which have corrected some flaws in the game, mainly in the audio playback, although a few minor spelling errors and small glitches currently persist. None of this is enough to detract from the enjoyment of the game, and a future storyline has been promised that teases the potential for a romantic storyline involving Keitaro’s rival Taiga which is enough to keep me excited to see what lies in store for the game.
