It’s maybe more difficult than the others, but equally fun. On a positive note, the game offers a hint system for the yarn balls (you can activate / deactivate this from the settings menu) and the camera controls have been improved a lot compared to the first game. The price has almost doubled from the first game (which costs $2.99), but the $5 you’d have to pay for it (if you want to buy it full price) is totally justifiable by the upgrades done to the visuals. Nevertheless, it’s a game worth picking up. You are an adventurer, the last of the Seekers of Cats, and you are tasked with an important job. Scattered on those islands are little cats, some of them are cold and hungry and yet still hoping someone will find them. Others don’t really care about you or your quest but meow insistently anyway so you should probably stop for a moment and pet them too. Another great game from Manic Hyena in the same vein as the first Hidden Paws. Hidden Paws Mystery is another casual and beautiful hidden object game where you roam around islands in search of cats and yarns. There are twenty new islands to explore all with various themes and design.

There is more variety in this title opposed to the last one. Controls are simple enough. You can use the mouse, keyboard, or combination of both. With all these islands it puts you at one hundred cats to find. If you have problem finding the cats you can listen for them to meow as you get close to them. The yarns this time around also have a feature that can be turned on in the options that will give you a general idea of where it is, since they don’t make any noise like the cats. The only issue I ran into this one which I feel it’s similar to the last game is I’m not in love with the way the exploration controls are. Maybe it’s because I’m using both but I could never find a way to free roam around without occasionally getting stuck trying to zoom out or be zoomed out far away from the island when I did zoom out. I don’t know what would make this better. Every time I think about it I just think I wish it was like a spectator orb that was more of a floating object controlled by wasd and aims with mouse. My one gripe aside this is still an excellent and casual hidden object game to check out. Harvestella

If you are not sure if you’d like it or not, start out with the first game since they are essentially the same but with different themes and areas at a cheaper price. Once you determine if you enjoy the series or not look into picking this one up. This is a delightful little game, especially for cat lovers. You explore 20 islands, all weird and wonderful in style, looking for numerous cats and yarn. Some islands are harder than others to complete. The cat island in the snow was quite difficult, as was the rabbit island, but the chess one was easy. The developers now have a hint system (by popular demand) for those elusive balls of yarn. I got through 95% of the game before I realised it was there! You just click on the ball of yarn and it give you sparkles in the general direction of the missing yarn. Controls have been greatly improved from the first game. I adapted quicker this time and it heightened my game enjoyment. The light for looking into dark crannies was a nice touch. On a couple of occasions I clicked on a ball of yarn and it wasn’t collected, but that was a minor issue. Music was nice, gentle and unintrusive. Graphics are basic but colourful and cute.

Nice little touches was a solitary lost penguin and some whastly wabbits!! This game is more challenging and more diverse than the first one. Having said that, I got 100% in over 6.5 hours. Fairly short game, but reasonably priced. A must for all cat lovers. A hidden object game, in which you have to find kittens and yarns. There is no time limit. You can take you time to admire the cats inspired surroundings of all the different islands, while looking for the very well hidden cats and yarn. Most of them are very difficult to find: hidden inside or behind all kind of objects or scenery. You have to smash pots, pumpkins and vases, open doors, crates and windows, remove plants etc. I found the controls of the game unresponsive and difficult to handle. Very often I got stuck in the scenery or keep up spinning into the wrong angle view. Yes, you only need a mouse (left click + mouse-wheel) or keyboard, but this game plays as if it was made for a gamecontroller only. It has a soft charm to the design, all themed around spooky or creepy aesthetics and featuring a gentle score in the background. The controls did take a fair bit of adjustment to get to a stage where I could comfortably play with the mouse alone. In the beginning it was awkward and janky to play with keyboard and mouse; however it does have the option to adjust the sensitivity for everything until you can play how you want. Overall, enjoyable if you like wandering around cute islands looking for cats and balls of yarn. Low stress! It is the follow up game to the original Hidden Paws and the games play the same way with a few more environments/levels built in. The game is casual and without any time limits. You pan the camera around to locate cats and balls of yarn. There is a simple HUD that tells you how many of each is in the level you are currently on. You can find all or most of the cats before you will be allowed to access the next level/environment.

If you decide to move on and then come back to a previous level, your previously found items will have been saved. All you need to do is complete your search. The environments are the best part of this game, they are really neat to look at and everything is so pretty. The cats are pretty adorable too. The music is soothing and calm, consistent with the way the game is played. Potentially for anyone who enjoys hidden-object games in a neatly crafted 3D environment. Base price is $4.99 USD, and the first game was $2.99. The lengths of the games are similar, but this one has more levels/environment designs. Both are reasonably priced. Hidden Paws Mystery is a good casual and relaxing hidden-object game that acts as a follow up of the original. Due to price difference, I would recommend that you try the first one first, as the gameplay is the same and this one offers a few more hand-crafted environments compared to the first. Nevertheless, you may find yourself wanting to go through both of these soothing and fun games.

I get done playing Hidden Paws and felt nothing but a hollow void. An emptiness I thought could never be filled. Thankfully, Manic Hyena does not disappoint, and really brought it back with Hidden Paws Mystery. This game is like Hidden Paws, but like, a billion percent better. Beefed up graphics and unique environments breathe new life into the series. The removal of the hint system I was upset at at first, but I now realize it was necessary so the game can have some semblance of a challenge. Every level of this game is a new fun area to get lost in as you find all the hidden kittens. I give this game a 9.5 out of 10. (The missing 0.5 is due to that one flower level, god, that was awful.) Honestly, it’s an outrage God of War beat this as game of the year. If you loved the first game, you will definitely love this one even more. The locations look absolutely gorgeous! The music fits quite lovely, and it’s a great expirience overall. Unfortunately, this game still have the same ussues as the previous one: awful controls and making graphics card go insane. I wish the devs did something about that, but they desided to focuse on the visuals instead. The Entropy Centre
