Dark Light Free Download GAMESPACK.NET Dark Light is a new Steam Early access game that certainly looks cool. The trailer shows off an eerie cyberpunk world in a state of what looks to be post apocalypse. Snippets of gameplay present a 2D action-platformer in line with Metroidvania concepts. A character with a gas mask and survival gear takes on the dark, rusty environments with only the glow of a small drone to guide him. He uses crude melee weapons to smash through enemies big and small, and dashes away from one that’s too big. Looking at the Steam description, it seems that the threat facing this cyberpunk world is supernatural. The threatening creatures are “invisible to the naked eye,” so the main character must use his drone’s light to reveal them. That’s where the whole “Dark Light” thing seems to come from. The developers also describes Dark Light as “souls-like.” This might be reflected in the non-linear progression or the ability to harvest material from enemies to upgrade the player character. Or it could just be a reference to all of the blood and gore that’s promised. TOP/BEST ADULT VIDEO GAMES IN UNITED STATES OF AMERICA (USA)

I’ve played six hours so far. A hidden gem with some moderate flaws. Lots of people calling it clunky and I *guarantee* it’s because of a few key animations: the stomping on enemies while they’re down animation  I mentioned getting locked into the the backstab animation, but it’s been fixed! Or maybe I just never tried to dodge roll out of it before? Either way, devs are supporting the game post launch, which is great) The rest of the combat is very fluid. But man. Those moments take me out of it. There are a few other bugs. Some dude offered to open a shortcut at one point for 20k gold. I said sure, I had the gold to spare. He opened it, but never charged me. I’m pretty sure that’s happened a few times in other situations.  there was a bugged door that I mentioned here, but this has been fixed since posting!) The exploration thus far feels pretty linear. There are optional dungeons, but the main dungeons you go through seem to be happening in a very set order. I tend to like metroidvanias to have a more open exploration element to them

You must time your attacks

That’s one of the key draws of the genre. There are some invisible enemies that flicker into view. There’s a tell that they’re there–your droid gets a little exclamation point warning you–which adds to the horror element. These enemies don’t do much damage, so they’re not unfair or cheap or anything. I just wish the tell was bigger or had more contrast. There are powerup towers that grant you temporary abilities that last until you die. At first I felt like this was a bad attempt to slap roguelike elements onto the thing, but then later I found the place where you open up your skill tree and realized those towers gave me the ability to test out powers before committing to them, so it was a cool decision and one I haven’t seen done in other games. There was definitely a lot of thought and love that went into the little things in this game. Weapons are fun and feel. The big ones feel like they have weight to them. Bosses are fun. The bulk of the game is stuff I’m enjoying more than most indie metroidvanias, which is why I’m calling it a hidden gem. Aimbeast

It feels like they got the game to where they wanted it to be, but should have maybe done a big bugfix patch before 1.0. If they do that, it’s in my top 10 indie metroidvanias. I know I spent a lot of time listing flaws here.. But. Every now and then a game comes out riddled with more bugs than this one, and it’s an instant classic. S.T.A.L.K.E.R comes to mind. Skyrim comes to mind. The fun outweighs the bugs. This feels like that kind of game. Overall this is a serviceable metroidvania style game, although I would say it’s probably a bit less of a MV than it is a 2D-Soulslike. The game does feature a decently sized world map with fast travel points and a hub to upgrade your character. And while the zones that make up the level do provide you with some degree of freedom to wander around inside of them, the zones themselves are connected in a somewhat linear fashion. There are not many unlockable exploration abilities in the game in general, as the game starts you with double jump, by the end of the first area you pretty much have all movement based abilities.

Multiple ways to upgrade weapons

The extent of the searching around usually comes in the form of looking for keys rather than permanent powers. One of my personal beefs with a lot of these 2D-Soulslike games is that they also feel pointlessly clunky in a poor attempt to recapture what the devs think what makes up the genre. Thankfully, this game does not all into that trap. The controls are pretty well for me on KB+M, and the game features full remapping of all keys, including the ability for me to hotkey the thumb buttons on my mouse which often gets overlooked. This means you are never really losing because you are wrestling with inputs. The character always does what I want him to do. My main issue with the game is that fairly early on, your ability to improve your character is locked not just behind farming currency, but upgrades start to require rare materials. I found these materials to be way too rare, and as a result my ability to level up my HP and stamina late into the game was throttled hard due to a lack of essential materials. This forced me to go back and try to farm monsters only for the hopes of finding these. Weapons also work the same way, which leads to a hesitance to upgrade not knowing what new weapon you might find later. The game would do well to make these a little more common or add a shop where they can be purchased even if at a high price. Ironically, I found the most of the weapons I used at the end of the game were ones I found fairly early on. Overall if you like 2D-Soulslike, you may enjoy this game. It sports upwards of 8 endings according to the achievements, so there is replayability there for those who want to try to 100% as it does require multiple playthroughs to get them all. The ending I saw was not particularly impressive and rather abrupt I thought, but it’s more about the journey I guess? My playtime to reach one ending was a bit over 12 hours, which is probably a faster than average time given that I consider myself to be highly experienced with these types of games.

Fight with invisible creatures

Whatever the case, Dark Light sounds very ambitious, and somewhat like it’s trying to cram several popular games into one. That’s what Early Access, is for though. Hopefully Dark Light finds its audience and incorporates feedback to grow into a truly unique experience. Dark and Light is a Sandbox game, meaning there is no original questing, the only thing resembling quests in the game is the starting “quests” which make you learn a little bit about the game. Snail games, the developers of Dark and Light, also stated that there will not be a direct narrative shoved into your face with cutscenes and such, but only parts of story hidden in the environment and item descriptions but a lot of that is still unavailable. Dark and Light is an online, fantasy, sandbox, survival RPG with a focus on magic and taming wildlife. And just to get it out-of-the-way yes there is lag and bugs but it is not game breaking by any means. When you start the game you will have to choose a server to play on which can host up to 70 players at the time

This was a letdown for me as I am not the biggest fan of server-based games because you lose your progress when you go to another server. After choosing a server and a fairly long loading screen you will have to choose 1 of three races and customize your character to obviously make them as ugly as you like, Your race also decides your starting point in the game which is currently one of three towns on the map. one of the more unique things that I also quite like about this game is that there are vendors and other npc’s in the towns where you can buy and sell items and use some specific tools only found in the towns. So as you go and explore the world you will have to craft and collect items to survive the brutal and unforgiving world of Dark and Light, it can get a little frustrating at times as the game does not explain too many things to you and definitely does not hold your hand, as you will die a lot when starting off.

Another really cool feature is the skill system of Dark and Light where you gain knowledge by crafting and collecting resources which unlocks more crafting possibilities and more skills to unlock. Now, as expected there are still quite some bugs in the game like teleporting and attacks simply not connecting, and this really does take away from the fun that you can have with the game, and there is plenty of fun to be had with Dark and Light, as long as you are able to look past these bugs and other problems the game still does have. design of the world and creatures, and a wide variety of biomes, from snowy mountains to dense forests full of vegetation and creatures is what makes everything look so good. All this combined makes the world of Dark and Light truly feel alive, and this really encourages exploring the varied and awesome looking world of Dark and Light.>  The sound design of dark and light is fairly good most sounds are clear and I did not really notice any inconsistencies apart from some sound bug Al Shoujo
