River City Girls 2 Free Download GAMESPACK.NET River City Girls 2 picks up shortly after the first game’s events, with protagonists Kyoko and Misako being literally thrown out of Nekketsu High School (through a window) by goons who work for Ken, the bratty son of a high-ranking yakuza member. This jumpstarts the game’s plot, and explains why the girls need to relearn their martial arts techniques (they lied low for two months playing video games after the yakuza took over the high school). This time around, WayFoward includes four playable characters from the start: the aforementioned Kyoko and Misako, plus Kunio and Riki, the stars of the original 8-bit and 16-bit Kunio-Kun/River City titles. As you progress through the game, you unlock Marion (the Double Dragon games’ damsel in distress) and Provie (from River City Ransom: Underground). The characters rock similar control schemes, so each one is easy to pick up and play (the excellent Fight’N Rage has characters with more gameplay variety). At first glance, River City Girls 2 doesn’t feel much different than its predecessor due to the similar pixel-focused graphics, manga-inspired cut scenes, quippy script, and generally similar controls. However, you’ll quickly spot the differences. For example, the map is larger, giving you more River City areas to explore, including the subway, slums, gentrified neighborhoods, and haunted woods. The game’s not a linear affair like Streets of Rage 4, so you’ll discover branching routes that lead to areas that aren’t attached to the main mission at hand. As a result, you’ll probably beat River City Girls in 10 to 20 hours, factoring in the many side-missions you pick up via your in-game smartphone (for comparison’s sake, you can beat Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge in roughly three hours).
