I enjoyed 8 on my ps2 back in high school, but I’d have rather they redid 7, having played it to death along with Dynasty Warriors 3 and 4. 7 had some interesting character mechanics since you weren’t locked into playing the faction leader, and I found if you got into a stalemate position in 8 during endgame due to defending provinces having more routes to them than offense did it would become impossible for anyone to ever break it, especially with only being able to war every three months. Of course, I’d just be happy if 11 got a proper English standalone Steam release so I didn’t need to plug an external Blu-ray drive into my laptop to play my old disk. Anomalous
