I would have paid 60 bucks for it without blinking an eye and it would have felt appropriate. Actually, I feel dirty that you can play something this good for free, It feels borderline stealing. SureAI have made a landmark in fan made content, providing a giant among other projects that not only feels just as awesome as Skyrim did back in the day, but is better on most levels be it game design, lore or writing. The only downside I can see is the overall jank that the game has, mostly due to it’s roots being in age old Skyrim game engine, but other than that it’s one of the best RPGs of the decade and I don’t say that lightly. This game makes Skyrim look amateur. It shows you what happens when studios have to spent all their ressources designing assets and don’t spend enough time CRAFTING a world. You remember RPG world design from the late 90’s like Qeynos in EQ? You’ll find this here such as the rich city of ARK which is meticulously designed with corners and turns and epic concepts. Endereal tells a story and creates a world more magical and epic than Skyrim. They could focus on creating art and you can see the difference. It shows that game producers run by soulless corporations just fake it when they make games. They’re too busy focusing on tight budgets and deadlines that they don’t pursue art. Video games need to tell a story and tell it good. The makers of Endereal succeeded in that endeavour. What we are left is a brand new game with its heart and soul which Skyrim was missing.
