Off the top of my head, I cannot think of another lewd game that has ever gotten a definitive edition before! This one here is a lot of fun and one of the more polished lewd visual novels that I have played. I will say that if you have played a lewd visual novel before, you will not find anything new brought to the genre here, but I still think this is a fun time and those fantastic visuals sure do help keep you invested. The story that Dreams of Desire: Definitive Edition is telling is, well it is ok. We play as a guy who lives with his mom and two sisters and he is about to be shipped off to military school. He comes across this old mysterious book that teaches him the power of the mind and before long he has the power to get people to do what he wants. There are different endings and different paths, but the basics here are that you want to use your powers to bang all of the chicks, oh, and avoid being sent to military school. I am pretty sure there are seven different endings in Dreams of Desire: Definitive Edition and there are different dialogue paths that can occur as you make your way to those endings. It is your typical visual novel game in many ways. You read a bit of text, try to learn what makes a character tick, and then pick the response you feel is right. One thing that this game does add to the gameplay are some point-and-click adventure style sections which do help keep things from getting stale. As this is the definitive edition, you are getting some extra content as well as the base game of Dreams of Desire. You get all 12 of the original episodes, but you do also get The Lost Memories story which is made up of three chapters and you also get The Holiday Special DLC as well. These give you many more sex scenes to playthrough! Dreams of Desire: Definitive Edition is a great looking game! What I love about this game are that the female characters have all clearly been hitting the gym as the majority of them are pretty damn shredded! It is a great look and gives the game a fantastic style. I like the realistic approach and the game also features some amazing animation for the sex scenes too.I only have two issues with the presentation. First of all, with so much effort put into making the characters look so good.

I do wish that they also had voice acting. Secondly, the MC has one of the strangest looking penises I have ever seen in a lewd game. With everything else looking so great, it really does stand out. This quality is maintained or even improved as you progress through the story and the animations which accompany it are also excellent. So why then was I left with disappointment? Well, the writing is… Inconsistent. This would be fine if the build up and pay off was good but – it’s not. Take the bitchy older sister cliché for example. In the first chapter, she hates you. The next chapter she’s sucking your dick. Apply this to each character cliché and you are left with shells of characters whose scenes do not feel ‘earned’. Dreams of Desire holds your hand the entire time and this brings me to my next criticism. Choices rarely matter. Despite every chapter having many ‘choices’, you are forced into ‘choosing’ all of them or the story won’t progress. So why give me the choice in the first place? But don’t fret, some choices do matter! And the game will place big warnings telling you choice A or B will matter. Unless of course it’s a game over choice, in which case they happen sporadically. While the setup is an interesting premise, unless you’re into mind-control type stuff it feels very weird.

Scene and Extras Gallery.

I tried picking this up several times but put it down pretty quickly. The models are weirdly proportioned. Something just feels off the whole time. Maybe some people like this but I didn’t. The most distracting thing is the writing. For some reason rather than using names of people, you get called “tenant” or “roommate” or whatever. Nobody in reality talks like this and it’s quite jarring. Other than that the “excessively horny main character” is such an overdone thing, and is really boring. Animation quality and general render quality is good, and may be one of the only positive things I can say. I apologize that this review will be light on detail, mostly reviewing for my own reference. The game is pretty good. It has a unique story, attractive characters, great modeling, and good animation. I used a guide mod because there are some stone-wall choices that immediately give you a game over… Kinda BS, but it then turns the game into not a game, which is kinda boring. Ex: There are a couple threesomes with you and two girls, but not many. There are no foursomes (or greater) that I can recall. Also, no mention of pregnancy which is fine but man seems like such a missed op. The dialog during sex is okay, sort of vanilla with a slight lean towards kinky.This game has good graphics and interesting story. The dreams were a bit confusing time to time. The screen with aboslutely dark silulethe seems a bit weird to me, but thats just a opininion. Still quite good game.Great concept and the models look fantatsic however as the story progresses the game starts to lose its way somewhat. Still fun to play through with an interesting idea and can be a lot of fun. Just felt as though some of the potential for the game was never realised. Absolutely great. There were few tiny issues with animations, but honestly, you only notice them because everything else is really well illustrated and animated. There were some logical errors early in the game (when you deliver your mom’s clothes, receptionist asks you to wait till she gets dressed – why is she naked if she’s waiting for you?

But the ending was absolutely great, very satisfying and… Well anything more I’d say would be vergin on a spoiler, so Im just gonna leave it at that. Well, the game is very well made. Lots of love went into making it. All women look great and are likeable for their appearance and “dedication”. Though, for me, i have to say i dislike the harem aspect. Plus paranormal and monster. But it does fit in nicely within the story. For the harem aspect I wish the game would have let me chose which female actor i would like to engage with. My purpose was to get hot with mom. So that works fine, but i had to go and try the spell on my sister as well. Meaning i had to. There was no choice. Of course MC had to try it out somewhere to be sure it worked. I mean the spell. Spell. This is another thing that bugged me. Though the premise to turn females with a spell has its merits, i feel its a cheat of sorts. I do not mind mind control, but i think it should been archived in other ways. The animations are super and there is nothin bad to say about the graphics. For the story, well, you can not be too picky i think.

The story is fine with all the spell thing and the other world (dimension perhaps) that you engaging with. It has quite the humor for sure. So in the end i think i am divided. I like it but do not like the harem aspect. There are other aspect i really did like. For example sleep sex. And choices you have to make and the consequences. It is quite a story and so the game is long. It can still capture you for the long run. At least i did it for me. So, i think just for the technical reasons, the game is worth the 4 stars. I would not mind to see mom model in some other game. I liked the graphics and the story idea of this game. Unfortunately, it lacks in the execution (at least for me). The characters are very shallow, ethics are tossed aside as fast as needed (there is one moment in which the character’s dialog sugest’s that he is worried for his dad – after already having invaded their parent’s ralationship with no concern whatsoever). The corruption or seduction moves way too fast for my taste and some sex scenes seem to be thrown in just to cover up the lack of story.

Expecially the MC’s visits of bedrooms during the night or morning are especially strange as the other family member’s are still around but must be conveniently locked in their room so they don’t accidentally catch the MC being naughty. And don’t get mew started on the multiple times characters fear for someone to wake up while they are making them cum (or dry-sticking fingers up their asses).  Another thing I should add: Why are the bonus scenes (that are totally unconnected) interrupting the storyline? It feels really distracting and it’s not that the story drags on with no sex scenes where the bonus scenes might have been a relief. I don’t understand why this game is so highly rated, I had to quit once I’d played about a 3rd. The primary themes of this VN are corruption and rape, but it’s made far to easy by handing it to you on a platter with the use of magic. The only good thing about this game is that the renders are fantastic, all the women are far too attractive though. The plot is bland and unimaginative, plenty of games out there give you magical control over other people.Time Keeper
