Block Fortress 2 lets you build an impenetrable fortress in almost any way imaginable, then puts you in the action trying to defend it! Place walls, turrets, traps, and tons of other specialized defenses to build your base. Choose from dozens of guns and equipment, build an army, and join the fight to defend your stronghold! Put your skills as a builder, commander, and fighter to the test as you try to fend off the relentless enemies of the Blockverse! Tentative review so far because I do sort of enjoy it, but some bad design choices are really hampering the game. It feels like a mobile port of the original game without any of the things you’d expect in a PC native version. The upgrade system is pretty terrible. There are menus in menus and you have to do things like equip mods every level. Tons of currency types that aren’t well explained and feel very mobile game. Loot boxes whenever you spent for upgrade mods, which are needed to play, so your run can be tanked by bad RNG. The absolute worst offender is the terrain and weapons. It’s almost impossible to get a map in the starting world where you can actually use turrets properly as the terrain is way to chaotic and the guns will refuse to shoot at enemies right next to them that are taking them out. If the enemy can shoot the gun, from 10 feet away, the effing machine gun should be able to shoot the enemy. Also, the need to get all those various premium currencies mid battle mean placing your barracks in a good place even harder. And worst of all, the bloody trees are a menace. Lost Skies
